Minnesota Twins second baseman Willi Castro went 2-for-5 with a double and a home run in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Athletics. He also collected three RBI and scored twice on the day. The 27-year-old is on a roll right now, hitting safely in his last five games while going 10-for-24 (.417) with six doubles, a home run, six RBI, and five runs scored. The Twins' utility man now has a .272-6-24-43-8 line on the season with a .353 wOBA and 131 wRC+. Castro has also batted leadoff in seven of the last eight games, increasing his fantasy value, while also eligible at 2B, 3B, SS, and OF in Yahoo leagues, making for a quality bench bat that managers can plug in almost anywhere.
Minnesota Twins utilityman Willi Castro went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles and a three RBI in Tuesday's victory versus the Tampa Bay Rays. Castro was leading off in the contest, his fourth straight start at the top of the order. The versatile veteran has been having a good season for the Twins, hitting .265 with five homers, 21 RBI, 41 runs and eight stolen bases in 249 at-bats. The Twins have dealt with different injuries throughout the season, but Castro's flexibility has made him a staple for the Twins this season. He will not blow away any particular category, but he offers just enough across the board to be valuable in deeper leagues, especially being eligible at multiple positions.
Minnesota Twins outfielder/infielder Willi Castro collected three hits in Wednesday's loss to the division-rival Kansas City Royals, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the defeat. The three-hit attack should help get Castro back on track after he went hitless in five of his past six outings. With Royce Lewis (quad) sidelined, the 27-year-old switch-hitter has taken on a more pronounced role across the diamond for the Twins, slashing a respectable .258/.332/.419 with four home runs, 16 RBI, 27 runs scored, and seven stolen bases across 208 plate appearances (55 games) in 2024. Castro is worth holding in the majority of fantasy leagues for his speed and positional eligibility until Lewis returns from his minor-league rehab assignment.
