Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will retreat to the bench on Saturday for a rest day at Target Field against the division-rival Detroit Tigers. Christian Vazquez will do the catching for right-hander Chris Paddack and will hit ninth against rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe. The Twins continue to split the catching duties right down the middle between Jeffers and Vazquez, making them both tough to rely on, even in deeper formats. The 27-year-old Jeffers has gone 7-for-32 (.219) with a double, four RBI, a run scored, two walks and eight strikeouts in nine games played. Vazquez has been even worse at the plate, going 3-for-21 with no homers and a run scored in nine games played. He has not faced Jobe in his career and should be avoided for DFS lineups.

Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers is absent from the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals. This appears to be a routine rest day for Jeffers after he started in each of the last three games. That being said, Christian Vazquez will do the catching and bat seventh versus left-hander Cole Ragans. Vazquez has been cold at the plate with only one hit in his last 11 at-bats. He's unlikely to have much success against a tough southpaw here. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a streaming option on Friday.

Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers will head to the bench ahead of Monday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Jeffers returned to the lineup on Sunday after leaving Friday's game due to a right hand injury. It's uncertain if Jeffers suffered a setback or if he's just getting a rest day on Monday. Regardless, Christian Vazquez will do the catching and bat seventh against left-hander Max Fried. Vazquez hasn't been much of a fantasy option this season. Through 75 games, Vazquez is hitting .231 with seven home runs and 27 RBI this season. Fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option ahead of Monday's game. It sounds like a rest day for Jeffers, but fantasy managers should check back for another update.

Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (hand) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The right-handed slugger is back in the mix after missing Saturday's contest due to a right hand issue. It looks like his absence was for precautionary reasons and he should be fine going forward. Jeffers will bat fifth and do the catching against right-hander Erick Fedde on Sunday. The 27-year-old doesn't hit for average, but his 20 home runs and 59 RBIs make him a solid fantasy asset.

Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss versus the San Diego Padres. The power hitting catcher now has 20 homers on the season to go along with 59 RBI and a .233 batting average in 326 at-bats. Jeffers has now homered three times over his last 15 at-bats as his power continues to surge. Despite his ability to go yard, he has been in a pretty even timeshare for most of the season with backstop Christian Vazquez. Because of his inconsistent play, Jeffers is hard to recommend on a daily basis in one-catcher leagues, but he is worth rostering in two-catcher formats.
