Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri will take a seat again on Saturday afternoon as the Rays continue a three-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks. This is the third time in the past four games that the 29-year-old has been kept out of the starting nine. Since the start of August, Siri has carried a .188/.257/.219 line with no home runs and just two stolen bases, As a result, Jonny DeLuca will get the starting nod at center field this afternoon and will bat in the seven-hole. Overall, Siri has showcased his upside for power and speed but has never been able to show it on a consistent basis. While DeLuca holds an underwhelming .171 AVG this month, he has begun to be a regular in the Tampa starting nine. He is best to fade this afternoon in DFS as he will face Arizona ace, Zac Gallen.

The pair of home runs puts Siri at 11 on the season to go along with 29 RBI. In his last four games, Siri has raised his batting average from .206 to .219. Still, due to his lack of consistency in the batting average department and his low OBP skills, he's provided no stolen bases despite being capable of stealing many bases with his athleticism. He remains a deep league injury replacement at best unless his hot streak continues over a longer period.

Siri hit a solo shot off Baltimore starter Cole Irvin in the second inning, a blast that traveled 400 feet and had an exit velocity of 105.1 MPH. The 28-year-old Siri is now hitting just .197 with six homers, 21 runs, 22 RBI, and seven steals across 152 at-bats in 2024. Despite his overall poor numbers, Siri has been swinging a hot bat of late, hitting .292 with three homers over his past seven games. Siri will look to stay hot as his team's weekend series against the O's continues on Saturday.

The 28-year-old was the hero in Wednesday's win and he brought more theatrics to the park on Thursday. Siri was 2-for-5 with two solo home runs, including a game-tying shot in the ninth inning off of Mason Miller. While the spike in production is nice, Siri is slashing an unsightly .188/.276/.338 this season with a 12:55 BB:K. He does have five home runs and seven steals across 45 games, but he is on base too infrequently to really take advantage of his speed. Siri is probably best left on the waiver wire in the majority of leagues.

It was a banner evening out of Siri, who also robbed a home run from A's second baseman Zack Gelof in the top of the ninth before delivering the game-winning knock for the Rays. The speedy 28-year-old center fielder has taken a step back following his breakout 2023 campaign, slashing a paltry .180/.272/.289 with three long balls, 15 RBI, 16 runs scored, and seven stolen bases over 128 at-bats (44 games) overall this season. Consistently batting ninth in Tampa Bay's lineup in a platoon for at-bats, Siri isn't worth rostering outside of deep AL-only fantasy leagues at the moment.
