New York Mets outfielder Harrison Bader is sitting on Saturday as the Mets continue a four-game set against the Miami Marlins. Bader has held a .243 AVG since July 2 and has gone hitless in his past three starts. As a result, Brandon Nimmo will shift to center field which opens left field for Jeff McNeill and right field for DJ Stewart. Bader has performed quite well in his first season in Queens as he has posted a solid .269/.308/.414 line with eight home runs and 13 stolen bases. The 30-year-old should be expected to return to the starting nine on Sunday. Nimmo and the other New York outfielders are all worth considering in DFS this afternoon as they will face Miami right-hander Roddery Munoz, who has held a poor 6.39 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, and a 14:15 BB:K ratio across his past five starts.
New York Mets outfielder Harrison Bader drilled a solo home run and a two-run homer, notching three RBI in Friday night's narrow win at Citi Field against the visiting Colorado Rockies. After lifting a solo shot to left-center field to give the Mets a 3-2 lead in the third inning, Bader took Rockies right-hander Tanner Gordon deep again with his second blast of the game to left field to extend New York's lead to 6-2 in the fourth frame. Even though the 30-year-old former Gold Glover is known for his defense in center field, Bader is batting a healthy .278 (72-for-259) with eight long balls, 36 RBI, 39 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases in 82 games as a solid deep-league fantasy option during his first year in Queens this season.
New York Mets outfielders Harrison Bader and Tyrone Taylor will both head to the bench for the start of Sunday's contest against the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates. With both Bader and Taylor out, Jeff McNeil will start in left field and bat eighth, while DJ Stewart will draw the start in right field and hit sixth against Pirates right-hander Luis L. Ortiz. After returning from a head injury he suffered early in the week, Bader went 1-for-6 with a double and RBI in the first two games of the series in Pittsburgh. Taylor, 30, has been the team's regular right fielder since Starling Marte (knee) went on the injured list. He's hit just .162 in 10 games without Marte, although he's added three home runs and two doubles. Stewart is hitting just .176 on the year with five home runs, while McNeil hasn't been much better with a .216 average (59-for-273) with five homers, 20 RBI and four stolen bases.
New York Mets outfielder Harrison Bader (head) is not in the team's starting lineup again on Thursday against the hosting Washington Nationals. Bader collided with the wall in Tuesday's game and was removed. He's avoided a concussion but is considered day-to-day for now and will miss his second straight game. Tyrone Taylor will play centerfield and bat eighth for the Mets in the series finale.
New York Mets outfielder Harrison Bader (head) is not in the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the hosting Washington Nationals. Bader crashed into the outfield wall early in Tuesday's contest in D.C. and was removed from the game. The good news is that the 30-year-old passed concussion tests and should be considered day-to-day for now. Check back to see if he's available to return to the starting lineup on the Fourth of July on Thursday against the Nationals. With Bader out on Wednesday, Tyrone Taylor will patrol center field and will hit seventh in the batting order against Nationals left-hander Mitchell Parker. The 30-year-old former second-round pick by the Brewers in 2012 has minimal DFS upside given his .223/.270/.361 slash line on the year with four homers, 21 RBI and six stolen bases in 166 at-bats for the Mets in 2024.
