Oakland Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Tuesday's victory versus the division rival Los Angeles Angels. Rooker put the Athletics on the board with a 1-0 lead when he took Jose Soriano yard for a 405-foot home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. The slugger has been swinging the bat well of late a .295 batting average to go along with three homers and six RBI over the past two weeks. Rooker is having a very fine season in the middle of the Athletics lineup with a .261 batting average to go along with 16 homers and 48 RBI. As a player that can provide plenty of power and not hurt managers batting average, Rooker is worth rostering in most formats.
Oakland A's outfielder Brent Rooker went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 11-9 win over the Atlanta Braves. Rooker took Chris Sale deep for a two-run shot in the top of the fourth inning to put the Braves up 8-3. It was his 12th long ball of the season. He later followed up his home run with a two-run double in the top sixth, giving him four RBI for the day. Rooker extended his on-base streak to 12 games. Overall, Rooker is slashing .283/.364/.561 with 12 home runs, 39 RBI, 25 runs, and two stolen bases over 47 games in 2024.
Oakland Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Houston Astros. It appears to be a regular rest day for the hard-hitting 29-year-old. Rooker has enjoyed a nice season thus far for the Athletics as evidenced by his .286/.368/.565 slash line. He has also tallied 11 home runs, 34 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases across 41 games. Kyle McCann will draw into the lineup in Rooker's absence and bat seventh against Astros right-hander Ronel Blanco. McCann has shown some promise in limited at-bats this season with three homers and a .346 average across 21 games.
Oakland Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker has been red-hot at the plate in May. Rooker is coming off winning the American League Player of the Week award and crushed a two-run home run on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners at an exit velocity of 113.4 mph, marking the hardest-hit ball of his career. He now has 10 home runs on the season after a two-hit day. In 10 games so far in May, Rooker has gone 17-for-38 (.447) with five home runs. He leads the majors with 14 RBI. "This is the maturation of Brent," manager Mark Kotsay said. "It's a follow-up of last year and the success he had. The at-bats he had off Castillo were great. He's seeing the ball really well and taking a great swing." Fantasy managers would be foolish to remove a hitter this hot from their starting lineups.
Oakland Athletics designated hitter Brent Rooker went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mariners, extending his hitting streak to five games. It was his fifth multi-hit performance in his last eight games. Rooker is scorching in May, going 15-for-34 (.441) with three doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI, 11 runs scored, and a 6:7 BB:K. The 29-year-old's .284 average may not stick, but coming off a 30-homer campaign in 2023 and with a 17.2% Barrel% in 2024, he looks to be well on his way to 30 again.
