Oakland Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker homered Saturday afternoon in an 8-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. The slugger hit his 22nd homer of the season, giving him four in his last four games, and seven in the month of July. Rooker is hitting .294 with the 22 home runs, 65 RBI, five stolen bases and 47 runs scored in 352 plate appearances. The veteran could be a prime trade candidate as we near the trade deadline at the end of the month.
Oakland Athletics designated hitter Brent Rooker was 2-for-2 with two homers and five RBI in the team's 18-3 win over the Phillies on Sunday. Rooker hit his 20th and 21st home run of the season and brought his RBI total to 62. The 29-year-old is in the middle of a breakout campaign, hitting .291 with a .942 OPS. Rooker has been one of the best draft-day values of the year so far.
Oakland A's outfielder Brent Rooker went 3-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. He doubled in the fourth inning and logged a single in the seventh frame. The 29-year-old blasted a 416-foot shot off Tyler Phillips in the seventh inning for his third hit of the night. Rooker has logged multi-hit efforts in six of his last 11 games. He is now slashing .287/.365/..550 with 19 home runs, 57 RBI, 42 runs, and five stolen bases over 82 games in 2024. Rooker will look to build on Saturday's performance and end the first half of the regular season on a high note in Sunday's series finale against the Phillies.
The Philadelphia Phillies are keeping a close eye on Oakland Athletics left fielder Brent Rooker with this summer's trade deadline approaching at the end of July. The Phillies rank 26th in OPS among left fielders this season. The addition of Rooker in Philadelphia would mostly be bad news for Brandon Marsh, who has mostly played left field for the Phillies this year. While Rooker swings and misses too often to suddenly become an elite fantasy asset, a move from Oakland to Philadelphia would significantly raise his ceiling in one of the most stacked lineups in baseball. The 29-year-old right-handed hitter has done plenty of damage on one of the worst teams in baseball in 2024, hitting .278/.353/.537 with an .891 OPS, 18 long balls, 54 RBI, four steals and 35 runs scored in 77 games in his second season for the A's after making his first All-Star team in 2023.
Oakland Athletics outfielder Brent Rooker homered and drove in four runs Saturday in a 19-8 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Rooker is enjoying an improved season thus far, hitting .277 with 18 home runs, 53 RBI, four stolen bases, and 34 runs scored. The veteran outfielder is in the 93rd percentile for hard-hit percentage at 50.9%, and the 96th percentile for barrel percentage at 16.2%. Rooker should continue to get ample playing time in the Oakland outfield as long as he continues to hit as he has been, with a .529 batting average and three home runs in July.
