Jayden Daniels Breaks the Slate
Jayden Daniels has the highest projection of any player on the slate, and I don’t think projection models can capture just how good this spot is. It’s the ultimate catch-22 situation — he is the best scrambler in the league, has excelled against zone coverage, and is also good against the blitz. Tampa plays a ton of zone, they blitz a ton, and they struggle against scrambling QBs. If they try to change their scheme (more man-heavy, for example), not only would they be playing a coverage scheme they’re less effective with, but they’d also be making themselves even more vulnerable to Daniels’ dynamic scrambling ability.
The only question is how to stack him, which I’ll get into in the next Hot Take.
