Harrison Bader, Tyrone Taylor Sitting On Sunday

New York Mets outfielders Harrison Bader and Tyrone Taylor will both head to the bench for the start of Sunday's contest against the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates. With both Bader and Taylor out, Jeff McNeil will start in left field and bat eighth, while DJ Stewart will draw the start in right field and hit sixth against Pirates right-hander Luis L. Ortiz. After returning from a head injury he suffered early in the week, Bader went 1-for-6 with a double and RBI in the first two games of the series in Pittsburgh. Taylor, 30, has been the team's regular right fielder since Starling Marte (knee) went on the injured list. He's hit just .162 in 10 games without Marte, although he's added three home runs and two doubles. Stewart is hitting just .176 on the year with five home runs, while McNeil hasn't been much better with a .216 average (59-for-273) with five homers, 20 RBI and four stolen bases.

Tyrone Taylor Hits Three-Run Home Run On Wednesday

New York Mets outfielder Tyrone Taylor had a big game in his team's 12-2 win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday. Taylor went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer, two runs, and a walk in the win over the Yankees. The 30-year-old is expected to see more playing time with Starling Marte (knee) sidelined and he certainly took advantage of that opportunity on Wednesday. Overall, Taylor is hitting .240 with three homers, 19 runs, 20 RBI, and six steals across 146 at-bats this season. If he can keep this up, Taylor is worth a look as a reserve in deeper fantasy leagues while Marte is out.

DJ Stewart, Tyrone Taylor To See More Time

With New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (knee) sidelined, the obvious candidates on the roster to see more action in the outfield are DJ Stewart and Tyrone Taylor. Second baseman Jeff McNeil could see more time in the outfield, too, which would open up the possibility of moving an infielder up from Triple-A Syracuse. The Mets have used Jose Iglesias often against lefties to spell the slumping McNeil at the keystone. Brett Baty, who has played three games for Syracuse at second since his demotion last month, and prospect Luisangel Acuna are infielders on the 40-man roster. The only other outfielder on the 40-man roster is speedster Duke Ellis, but he's only played eight major-league games. Ben Game and Trayce Thompson are other options not on the 40-man roster for the Mets.
