It was a tale of two halves for San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey in Sunday's 34-31 victory over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game. In the first half, McCaffrey struggled to find open field against a stout Detroit run defense and gained just 3.3 yards per carry. McCaffrey has been the engine of San Francisco's potent offense all year, so it is no coincidence that the largest comeback in NFC Championship Game history featured CMC ramping up to 5.9 per carry in the second half. All told he took 20 rush attempts for 90 yards and two touchdowns while adding four catches on five targets for 42 yards receiving. The Niners have now punched their ticket to Las Vegas and Super Bowl LVIII against the Kansas City Chiefs. McCaffrey will represent the top fantasy play at any position in the rematch of Super Bowl LIV.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy led the team to a 34-31 comeback victory in the NFC Championship Game over the Detroit Lions at Levi's Stadium on Sunday. The 17-point halftime deficit Purdy and the 49ers erased in the second half was the largest comeback in NFC Championship Game history. He finished the day 20-for-31 for 267 yards passing, one touchdown, and one interception plus five scrambles for 48 yards rushing. While Purdy's fantasy total may have disappointed DFS and playoff pool gamers, he continues to throw cold water on the narrative that he is a mere "game manager". Purdy is indeed surrounded by offensive talent -- see receiver Brandon Aiyuk bailing him out on a too-deep shot off a defender's face mask, for example -- but he made several impressive, clutch plays, including with his legs. Catch him in two weeks when tries to bring the first Super Bowl Championship to the Bay in nearly 30 years against the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) will not have any limitations on Sunday as he takes on the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship game. Samuel suffered a left-shoulder injury early in the win over the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round last Saturday, but X-rays revealed no structural damage, and he was completely removed from Friday's final injury report. It's great news for a 49ers offense that didn't look very good in the regular season when Samuel sat out a few games due to a similar shoulder injury. It's also bad news for a Lions defense that hasn't been able to slow down opposing receivers. The 28-year-old is dealing with a really bad deep bruise but should be his normal self on Sunday and will be very attractive at a lowered DFS price because of the injury he suffered last weekend.

San Francisco 49ers rookie kicker Jake Moody will look to keep a mostly successful postseason going smoothly when the team faces the Detroit Lions at home in the NFC Championship Game. Moody, who set the NFL record this season for most consecutive extra points made since the try was moved back to the 15-yard line in 2015, made all three last week in the Divisional Round versus Green Bay. He also sank a 52-yard field goal after having his first attempt, a 42-yarder, blocked. 72-degree weather is in the forecast for Sunday's game, with no precipitation and virtually no wind. With an over/under currently above 50, the 49ers offense is expected to provide plenty of opportunities for Moody to gather points in this one, making him arguably the top choice among kickers this round

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle played a key role in the team's 24-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers last week, posting four catches on seven targets for 81 yards and a touchdown. He'll look to keep the good times rolling in a favorable matchup on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions in Santa Clara. Detroit allowed the 10th most half-PPR fantasy points to tight ends during the regular season. Most recently, the Lions allowed Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton to gather five receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown. With the matchup and momentum on his side, Kittle has a good chance to outproduce all other fantasy tight ends in Championship Week.
