Chiefs Downgrade Kadarius Toney To Out

The Kansas City Chiefs have downgraded wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hip, personal) from questionable to out for Sunday's AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens. Toney was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, but the 25-year-old former first-rounder will miss his sixth straight game because of his hip injury. With Toney out yet again, it will mean that Justin Watson and Mecole Hardman Jr. will compete for targets behind rookie wideout Rashee Rice and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The oft-injured Toney just hasn't been able to stay on the field consistently in his NFL career and disappointed with only 27 receptions for 169 yards and one touchdown on 38 targets over 13 regular-season games in 2023 in his first full season with the Chiefs.

Kadarius Toney Questionable To Face Ravens

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hip) is officially listed as questionable to suit up this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game. Toney got off to a good start at practice this week when he was able to practice in full on Wednesday, but he was downgraded to limited on Thursday and is in danger of missing his sixth straight game. The oft-injured 24-year-old former first-rounder has not played since the team's Week 15 win over the New England Patriots and will surely be on a snap count if he's cleared to play in Baltimore this weekend. Even if Toney is active against the Ravens, he shouldn't be in consideration for DFS lineups. Toney had just 27 catches on 38 targets for 169 yards and one touchdown in 13 regular-season games for Kansas City in 2023.

Kadarius Toney Downgraded To Limited On Thursday

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hip) was a limited participant for Thursday's practice after putting in a full practice on Wednesday. The 2021 first-round pick has not played since Week 16 due to a hip injury, and it remains to be seen if he will return for the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens. Toney caught just 27 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown and rushed 11 times for 31 yards in 13 regular season games, so he is not a strong DFS consideration if he suits up on Sunday. Rashee Rice has established himself as the clear No. 2 target behind Travis Kelce in Kansas City's offense.

Rashee Rice, Kadarius Toney Practicing In Full

Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers Rashee Rice (hamstring), Kadarius Toney (hip) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (oblique) all put in full practices on Wednesday as the team began preparing for the AFC Championship this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs have a challenge on their hands to knock off the top seed in the AFC on the road if they want to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Baltimore's defense isn't going to make it easy on a KC offense that was down a bit in 2023, however, their pass defense took a dip late in the regular season. Rice, who was held to just four catches for 47 yards in the Divisional Round win over Buffalo, will look to bounce back. The 23-year-old rookie is really the only Chiefs pass-catcher not named Travis Kelce that is worth trusting in DFS lineups the rest of the postseason. Toney is hoping to return for the first time since Week 15.

Browns Intend To Bring Nick Chubb Back

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry said the intention is to bring running back Nick Chubb (knee) back for the 2024 season despite his contract situation and serious knee injury. The Browns have an out in Chubb's contract this offseason for only a $4 million dead salary cap hit, and he would carry a $15.8 million cap hit for 2024. If the two sides are intent on running it back, it's likely they'll come to an agreement on a contract restructure for next season. The 28-year-old suffered a torn left ACL early in the 2023 campaign but is no longer using crutches and could be ready to go for the start of the 2024 regular season, barring any setbacks this offseason. If Chubb is ready to go for the start of next season, he'll be a bit more risky as an RB1 in fantasy coming off his serious knee injury.
