Chiefs Non-Committal About Kadarius Toney's Status

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney was taken off the injury report last week. Head coach Andy Reid said that Toney has been practicing but was non-committal about whether the receiver would play in the Super Bowl this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. "We'll see, I don't know. He's been practicing. We'll just see whether he's up or not," Reid said. With Toney and Skyy Moore (knee) not having played since Week 15, the Chiefs have relied heavily on tight end Travis Kelce, rookie receiver Rashee Rice and running back Isiah Pacheco and that should continue this weekend. Even if Toney is active for the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to be on the field for many offensive snaps.

Kadarius Toney Removed From Injury Report

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (personal) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday and was officially removed from the team's injury report leading up to the Super Bowl next weekend against the San Francisco 49ers. Toney has not played at all since Week 15 and has recently been listed on the injury report with ankle and hip injuries before saying that he hasn't been injured and the Chiefs have mismanaged their injury report. The 25-year-old former first-rounder was also away from the team last weekend for the birth of his child. Toney is getting healthy with one game left in the Chiefs' season, but even if he's active in the Super Bowl, Toney won't be expected to be a big part of the team's offensive game plan.

Kadarius Toney Listed As Full Practice Participant

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (personal) was listed as a full participant for the team's walkthrough practice on Wednesday. Toney hasn't played since Week 15 due to ankle and hip injuries, but he voiced frustration after the AFC Championship win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday that he hasn't been injured. The 25-year-old also was away from the team last week for the birth of his child. Toney enters this week without any injuries attached to his name, so he should be just fine to take part in the Super Bowl on Feb. 11 against the San Francisco 49ers. In any event, even if Toney is active for the Super Bowl, it's unlikely that he'll have much of a role in the Chiefs' offense. After all, the former first-rounder only had 27 catches during the regular season for 169 yards and one touchdown on 38 targets.

Kadarius Toney To Practice Leading Up To Super Bowl

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hip), who has missed the team's last six games, will practice in the next two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. Toney was ruled out of Sunday's AFC Championship win over the Baltimore Ravens and apparently posted an audio recording on social media on Sunday morning, claiming that he's "not hurt" and that the Chiefs have mismanaged their injury designations. The former first-rounder practiced in full last Wednesday before being limited on Thursday and Friday but was inactive on Sunday, the day of his daughter's birth. Toney had a glaring drop in Week 15 and has played in just one game since lining up offsides on the memorable play that took a potential game-winning touchdown away from KC in their Week 14 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Kadarius Toney Says He's Not Hurt

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hip, personal) wasn't active for Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens. However, the wideout took to Instagram Live on Sunday, accusing the organization of lying about his injury. "I'm not hurt," Toney said during the video. "None of that. It goes from hip to ankle to this to that." The 2021 No. 20 overall pick had plenty of promise entering the league. But he hasn't lived up to expectations, recently finishing the 2023-24 campaign with 27 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown. Toney also made several critical on-the-field errors, including a costly offsides penalty in Week 14 that potentially resulted in a loss to the Buffalo Bills. At any rate, Toney likely won't be active for the Super Bowl, assuming the Chiefs advance. It's also possible he's already played his final game in Kansas City. Now the question remains if any team will want him on the roster come next season.
