Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) is expected to play in Tuesday's game against OKC. There were reports he wouldn't be back for this one. However, he was upgraded to questionable on Tuesday afternoon and is now anticipated to be on the floor. The 30-year-old was having an MVP-caliber season before suffering a knee injury in January. But with a two-month layoff, Embiid will return to try to help Philadelphia avoid the Play-In. Of course, there's a chance he'll be limited in his first game back. Yet, Embiid should still severely lower the fantasy ceilings of Mo Bamba and Paul Reed.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hip) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. A late addition to Sunday's injury report with left hip tightness before being ruled out ahead of the win over the Toronto Raptors, Maxey remains in danger of missing a second consecutive matchup with the issue. If the All-Star playmaker can't go on Tuesday, expect Cameron Payne to draw another start in Philly's backcourt alongside Kyle Lowry after he did so against Toronto. In five games as a starter for the Sixers this year, Payne is averaging 16.4 points, 3.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.2 threes and would be a decent fantasy streamer for points and triples against a Thunder team surrendering the sixth-most treys (3.3) to enemy point guards in 2023-24.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) is officially listed as out ahead of Tuesday's showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic's Shams Charania both reported on Monday morning that Embiid is targeting a return during fantasy championship week from a two-month absence following left knee surgery, but it appears that managers will have to wait at least one more game. The reigning MVP's next chance to return comes on Thursday against the Miami Heat. Although Mo Bamba ranks inside fantasy's top 80 in nine-category leagues over the past two weeks, averaging 8.5 points on 56.8% shooting from the floor, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and 0.9 three-pointers across his last eight games (all starts), he's only playing 19.7 minutes per contest since March 18 and isn't the most reliable streaming option.
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey (hip) won't play against the Raptors on Sunday. He picked up a late questionable tag due to hip tightness, and the team has now downgraded him to out. Cameron Payne is set to take his position in the starting lineup. It's a good matchup to make some noise for Payne, who's notched 13.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.0 steals in six previous starts in 2023-24. Maxey's absence also means extra shots for the likes of Kelly Oubre Jr., Tobias Harris, and Buddy Hield.
Miami Heat guard/forward Caleb Martin (ankle) will be a game-time decision on Friday versus Portland. He plans to go through the pregame warmup before deciding if he can play through right ankle discomfort, which has troubled him lately. Martin hasn't missed any action since Jan. 10. He's struggled with his shot this month but has still averaged a solid 10.7 points with 4.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
