Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) is officially available for Thursday's game against Miami. He was initially regarded as questionable for the game. Embiid returned from a 29-game absence on Tuesday against the Thunder, posting 24 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals in 29 minutes. The reigning MVP gets a much tougher matchup on Thursday against Bam Adebayo, but he should still fill the box score with ease.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hip) will rejoin the action on Thursday versus Miami. He has shaken off a questionable tag and will be back after missing two games with a hip problem. Maxey has carried a heavy load in previous matchups against the Heat in 2023-24, averaging 24.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 7.3 assists in 41.3 minutes. On Thursday, he will be getting extra help from Joel Embiid (knee), who's yet to face the reigning Eastern Conference champions this season.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hip) is back on the injury report ahead of Thursday's game in Miami. The 23-year-old has had a stellar 2023-24 campaign and was instrumental in helping the 76ers stay afloat while Joel Embiid (knee) was on the shelf. But he's battled various injuries throughout the season, with hip tightness keeping him off the floor for the Sixers' previous two contests. If Maxey returns, he'll presumably see his usual workload, considering he wouldn't be available if he weren't fully healthy. However, if he sits this one out, Cameron Payne, coming off a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double with five assists in Tuesday's win over OKC, is worth considering for deep DFS tournaments. With Embiid and Tobias Harris (knee) questionable, Payne's fantasy ceiling will rise if either is ruled out.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) is questionable heading into Thursday's Eastern Conference clash with the Heat. Embiid returned from a few months on the shelf for Tuesday's win over OKC. Despite battling fatigue and amassing six turnovers, he still ended the night with 24 points, seven assists, six boards, and three steals. Embiid also logged 29 minutes, so he may get a little more action if he plays. But the Sixers are looking to climb out of the Play-In, meaning there's a good chance Embiid will be on the floor. With that in mind, his rostering cost for DFS participants will likely be lower than usual, making him an ideal fantasy option.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) scored 24 points in Tuesday's 109-105 win over OKC. Embiid went 6-for-14 from the field and 0-for-3 from behind the arc. However, the reigning MVP made up for it by sinking all 12 free-throw tries and amassing seven assists, six boards, and three steals. Despite also accumulating six turnovers, Embiid looked good, even more so for a guy who hasn't played in two months. But with Philadelphia currently a few games back from the Indiana Pacers to climb out of Play-In contention, Embiid should be on the floor for Philadelphia's remaining six regular season contests. He'll presumably increase his workload on Thursday in Miami after logging 29 minutes against the Thunder, so it shouldn't take him long to return to form.
