Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic was suspended by the league for one game for his involvement in the scuffle during Friday's matchup against the Pelicans. Jovic, the 2022 No. 27 overall pick, has averaged 5.8 and 4.1 rebounds this season. Besides his lack of statistical contributions, he's bounced back and forth between the G League. As a result, Jovic's absence doesn't mean much for fantasy managers.
Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant will serve a three-game suspension for his involvement in a melee during Friday's meeting with the New Orleans Pelicans. The 26-year-old has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds this season. However, along with his lack of production, he has routinely been held off the floor by head coach Erik Spoelstra. As a result, Bryant's suspension won't have much of an impact on fantasy managers, considering he hasn't done much in any statistical area this season.
According to TNT's Chris Haynes, the NBA has suspended Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler for his involvement in a scuffle during Friday's meeting with the New Orleans Pelicans. He will miss one game. Butler will be joined by Naji Marshall, Thomas Bryant, Nikola Jovic, and Jose Alvarado, who were also involved in the melee. Although fantasy managers are usually disappointed, it may be a good thing for the veteran to get a night off, especially since he's missed time this season for various reasons. Nonetheless, without Butler on the floor, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo should get more scoring chances. Additionally, Duncan Robinson, Caleb Martin, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. could see a significant increase in fantasy production.
Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro couldn't complete Friday's game against New Orleans after hurting his left knee. Herro finished the contest with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, and one block in 31 minutes. Luckily, he appears to have avoided a serious injury. Herro said postgame: "I think structurally everything was good. No major, even minor damage. I think everything is good. It kind of just scared me more than anything." Herro was on the injury report with a right foot problem before Friday's action, so he's currently quite a bit banged up. But with the Heat having the weekend off, the talented guard gets some extended rest, which will hopefully help him get healthy.
Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant was ejected from Friday's game against New Orleans without logging any playing time. A foul on Zion Williamson early in the fourth quarter sparked an altercation, and things got very heated between Bryant and Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado. Both players threw punches at each other and will likely receive a suspension following the incident. Bryant has played just seven games since the turn of the year, so Miami shouldn't have any issues coping with his absence. The 26-year-old big man has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 10.4 minutes in 25 games for the season.
