The Los Angeles Lakers say centerAnthony Davis (Achilles/hip) is out for Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Davis is banged up with bilateral Achilles tendinopathy and a left hip spasm, so the Lakers will hold out the 30-year-old two-way superstar on the second leg of a back-to-back and the third contest of their current six-game road trip on Tuesday. With LeBron James (ankle) questionable against the Hawks, Jarred Vanderbilt, Christian Wood, and Jaxson Hayes may be needed to fill up heavy frontcourt playing time.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt has been ejected from Monday's game against the Houston Rockets. Vanderbilt made an early exit after picking up two technical fouls in the first half. He got into a shoving match with Dillon Brooks, which led to his early exit from this contest. The absence of Vanderbilt isn't going to have much of an impact on this rotation. The Lakers are relatively healthy, so they will probably just use a committee approach to fill the void.
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (ankle) continues to carry a questionable tag on the injury report ahead of Saturday's battle with the Warriors. He missed his fifth game of the season on Tuesday against the Clippers but returned to the court Thursday versus Portland and should have a good chance of featuring on Saturday. However, if he isn't good to go, Rui Hachimura will likely fill in for James again in the starting unit. He produced an 11-point outing in 30 minutes against the Clippers. In seven starts across the entire season, Hachimura has posted 13.0 points with 3.7 rebounds.
Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Anthony Davis (Achilles) is considered questionable for Saturday's matchup against Golden State. He could be out for only the third time this season. Davis has never played more than 75 games in a single season, so he's on track for a career-high in that regard. Fantasy managers shouldn't read too much into his questionable tag, as Davis has played through various issues during the season, although it's worth monitoring his status on Saturday.
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James returned from his one-game absence due to an ankle injury on Thursday, posting 25 points, four rebounds, and 12 assists in the team's 141-132 win over the Chicago Bulls. The Lakers were on fire from the floor, putting up 112 points in three quarters and shooting over 60 percent for the game. Significant support from D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves is essential to the team's success this year, and each scored at least 20 points in this game. James is averaging 24.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.5 assists in 34 minutes per game this season.
