Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (thumb) will be forced to miss a second consecutive game with a thumb sprain. He originally was listed as questionable for the opening injury report against the Atlanta Hawks but has been downgraded once more. Irving has been good for moderate periods this season but has already missed his fair share of games. The good thing for the Mavericks is that the rest of the backcourt is healthy so they won't have to scrounge at the bottom of the rotation to find someone to throw on the court. While Irving watches from the sidelines, Luka Doncic will be primed for a huge game. Meanwhile, Josh Green and Tim Hardaway Jr. could serve as stronger streaming options.
Dallas Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber (toe) has been listed as probable for the team's Friday night contest against the Atlanta Hawks. Kleber missed a big stretch of games due to the same toe issue but has been able to battle through any pain over the last five games. While he hasn't been starting, he's been playing north of 20 minutes a night and has been able to contribute a bit in points, rebounds, and blocks. Kleber hasn't returned to full fantasy relevance yet, he's more of a deep-league asset, but if he continues to ramp up to more and more minutes, he could be a solid source of defensive stats and boards. As he plays more, that's also going to cut into the minutes of Grant Williams and Richaun Holmes.
Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (thumb) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Irving was forced to sit out of their last game due to a right thumb sprain. His absence allowed Grant Williams to move into the starting unit. However, Williams only played 11 minutes before being ejected from the contest. If Irving sits, Williams might start again, but Tim Hardaway Jr. is the main beneficiary here.
Dallas Mavericks center Dwight Powell (eye) has been ruled out ahead of Friday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. The big man is set to miss another game while he continues to deal with a left eye issue. Maxi Kleber (toe) is listed as probable, but he should be able to suit up for this game. Kleber figures to take on a majority of the backup center minutes in the absence of Powell. However, Kleber probably won't have strong streaming appeal even with increased playing time.
Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (thumb) has been ruled out ahead of Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns. The 31-year-old suffered a left thumb sprain during Monday's contest. As a result, Irving will sit out on Wednesday after being listed as questionable heading into the game. In his absence, Tim Hardaway Jr. figures to move into the starting five. He has been playing extremely well lately and is a strong streaming option for Wednesday's slate.
