Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson came off of the bench in the three-point victory over the Utah Jazz on Thursday and he led the team in scoring while only playing 28 minutes. The veteran sharpshooter finished with 35 points on 13-for-22 shooting and 7-for-13 from beyond the arc. He also chipped in six rebounds and two assists while registering zero turnovers. Thompson has been on a crazy rollercoaster ride of a season that has now turned him into a bench player instead of their starting shooting guard. If he can continue knocking down threes and providing sparks off of the bench, it shouldn't affect his fantasy value too much. His inconsistencies are something that can get frustrated though.
Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson will play with the second unit during Thursday's game against the Utah Jazz. The Warriors have elected to have the struggling guard come off the bench for at least this game. Brandin Podziemski will get the starting nod in place of Thompson. Podziemski has played well recently and is worth looking at in standard leagues. Thompson should still be able to carry value off the bench, but his ceiling will be limited.
Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum (knee) is still out for Wednesday's meeting with the San Antonio Spurs. Right knee bursitis will prevent Exum from suiting up for a 10th game in a row, and he'll look to get re-evaluated ahead of Dallas' next contest on Feb. 22 versus the Phoenix Suns. Josh Green will spend at least one more game in the Mavs starting five, and he's offering top-50 numbers in nine-category leagues since Jan. 31. Covering his latest seven games, Green is averaging 14.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.1 three-pointers on 46.9% shooting from downtown, and 1.1 swipes in 31.4 minutes and remains a strong streaming option in fantasy hoops in Wednesday's matchup that features the second-highest implied point total (242.5) on the massive 13-game slate.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to make his team debut in Tuesday's matchup against Detroit. The veteran has his first practice session with the Lakers on Monday. Dinwiddie's fantasy value takes a hit in Los Angeles, as he won't be a starter, but injuries have left quite a few gaps in the lineup, and we should still see plenty of him on Tuesday. However, Dinwiddie needs to start hitting shots if he wants to carve out a significant role in L.A. The 30-year-old is shooting just 39 percent from the field this season with a 32 percent success rate from downtown.
Dallas Mavericks center Maxi Kleber (toe) is available ahead of Monday's game against the Washington Wizards. The big man has been dealing with a lingering toe issue lately. Despite that, Kleber posted a double-double during Saturday's game. It's worth noting that he'll come off the bench with PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford moving into the starting five for Monday's game. Kleber should still see minutes off the bench, but he won't be as valuable of a streaming option.
