According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic (ankle) isn't expected to play on Friday against Detroit. With Kyrie Irving (hamstring) already ruled out, Dante Exum, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Jaden Hardy will be let loose on the Mavericks backcourt against the worst team in the National Basketball Association. It's a very favorable matchup for the trio, as only four teams allow more points per game than the Pistons.
Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (knee) is listed as probable ahead of Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The veteran guard sat out of Thursday's game due to a lingering knee issue. However, head coach Steve Kerr said beforehand that he expected Thompson to play on Friday. He should return to the starting five, which will drop Chris Paul to the bench. Fantasy managers should double check that Thompson is active ahead of Friday's game.
New Orleans Pelicans guard/forward Naji Marshall (shoulder) will be welcomed back into the lineup on Thursday versus Sacramento. He's recovered from a shoulder problem that kept him sidelined for a couple of games. Marshall is typically one of the first guys off the bench, and New Orleans is going to need his presence in a situation where Brandon Ingram (knee) remains absent and Larry Nance Jr. (personal) can't play. However, Marshall isn't a very attractive piece fantasy-wise. He's averaging 7.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 19.3 minutes for the season.
Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (hamstring) won't play on Friday versus Detroit. The former Duke Blue Devil has been on a roll lately, averaging 28.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.7 steals in six games in April. But the Mavericks are going to the playoffs, so Dallas won't need him out there against arguably the worst team in the National Basketball Association. With Luka Doncic (ankle) also on the injury report, P.J. Washington, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Dante Exum may see a significant uptick in fantasy production.
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (ankle) is questionable heading into Friday's matchup with the Pistons. The 25-year-old has been on and off the injury report all season. However, he's only missed 10 games, his fewest since his rookie campaign. With that said, the Mavs are set for the playoffs, so the team may give Doncic a night off versus the disastrous Pistons. With Kyrie Irving (hamstring) also ruled out, Dante Exum, Tim Hardaway Jr., and P.J. Washington could lead the way on the scoring end.
