Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons (back) is available for Sunday's game against the Detroit Pistons. The Nets continue to be cautious with Simmons, but he'll suit up for this game. However, he's unlikely to play on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Nets are holding Simmons out of back-to-back contests, so he shouldn't be available on Monday. Simmons is coming off his best performance of the season where he scored eight points with 11 rebounds, and two blocks against the Chicago Bulls. That was an encouraging statline from the oft-injured guard.
Brooklyn Nets utility man Ben Simmons (back) is questionable for Sunday's contest versus Detroit. It's the first of back-to-back outings for Brooklyn, so if Simmons plays against the Pistons, he likely won't be out there on Monday against the Grizzlies. The 28-year-old started in all five of his appearances this season. But he hasn't been productive, averaging 6.2 points, 6.2 assists, and 6.0 rebounds. With Nicolas Claxton returning to form after battling a hamstring injury to begin the year, Simmons will likely return to the bench. However, no matter his role, he hasn't been a reliable starting option for fantasy managers.
Brooklyn Nets forward Trendon Watford (hamstring) is available for Friday night's matchup against the Chicago Bulls. This will be Watford's season debut as he's been ruled out of action since early October. It should be expected that Watford will come off the bench in his return as he did almost all of last season for Brooklyn when he averaged 6.9 PPG in 13.6 minutes. Fantasy managers should temper their expectations and DFS managers can likely find better options if looking for a plug-and-play on Friday night. Jalen Wilson has been receiving the most minutes off Brooklyn's bench and his averaging 8.2 PPG and likely will be a better fantasy option on Friday, though Watford will likely eat into his minutes as the season progresses.
According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Brooklyn Nets utility manBen Simmons(back) is unavailable for Tuesday's matchup with the Denver Nuggets due to lower back management. Tuesday is the first half of back-to-back games for the Nets, and Nic Claxton will likely start in place of Simmons. However, Claxton's minutes have been restricted so far this season due to a hamstring injury in training camp. Keon Johnson, Zaire Williams, Shake Milton, andJalen Wilson will likely see more minutes on the court with Simmons out.
Brooklyn Nets center Nicolas Claxton (hamstring) will see increased minutes during Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to head coach Jordi Fernandez. Claxton has been eased back into action over the first two games of the season. He played 15 and 20 minutes over the first two contests. It sounds like he'll play more than that on Sunday. The expectation is that Claxton will play close to 25 minutes against the Bucks. He has struggled to make much of an impact with limited playing time, but should be back to being a consistent contributor soon.
