Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton was quiet throughout most of the regular season. He was a distant third option in the passing game but came alive in the postseason. On Sunday, Otton hauled in five of eight targets for 65 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Detroit Lions. In two postseason games, Otton caught 13 of 19 targets for 155 yards and a score. It was a nice showing for the young tight end during the postseason. Otton will likely enter the 2024 season as the No.1 tight end, but that doesn't guarantee he'll be a viable fantasy option.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton was the primary pass-catcher for this offense during last weekend's win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Otton hauled in eight of his 11 targets for 89 yards in the win. Quarterback Baker Mayfield (ribs, ankle) was still somewhat immobile, so he leaned on the short routes to Otton. This gameplan of getting the ball out quick to Otton worked against the shaky Eagles defense. However, the Bucs are unlikely to have the same success against the Detroit Lions defense. Before this game, Otton had been held to two receptions or less in six straight games. DFS players shouldn't expect another eight-catch performance from Otton this weekend.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton caught eight of his 11 targets for 89 yards in the Wild Card victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night. Those figures were all career-highs for the second-year tight end, and he picked a great time to have his best outing. Given his cheap price tag in DFS tournaments, he paid off significantly for DFS gamers. Next up for Otton is a road contest against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Divisional Round. The Lions have surrendered the seventh-most fantasy points per game to tight end this year, so look for him to build on his productive day.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton has been barely involved in the offense since the month of December. Otton has been held to 44 receiving yards or less in his last six games. The young tight end has an bypassed by wide receiver Trey Palmer in the pecking order. Last week, Otton finished with two receptions for 30 yards in the win over the Carolina Panthers. DFS players should expect a similar outing from Otton who struggled during his last meeting against the Philadelphia Eagles. DFS players should be able to find a better option for this weekend.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton once again was an afterthought during Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The young tight end hauled in two of his three targets for 30 yards in the victory. Otton continues to serve as a distant third option in the passing game. In fact, Otton only has five games with more than three receptions this season. He'll be a low priced DFS option for the postseason slated next weekend, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect too much from Otton.
