The funds were shifted from a future contract and a $4 million guaranteed roster bonus for the following year. This change follows Stafford's push for more guaranteed money and ensures his participation in the Rams' training camp. The Rams did not extend Stafford's original four-year, $160 million deal signed in 2022, which remains in effect through the 2026 season. Stafford still has three years left on his contract but only $31 million in guaranteed salary for this year, with none guaranteed in the final two seasons. After a challenging start last season and a thumb injury that caused him to miss one game, Stafford ended strong, throwing for 16 touchdowns and only four interceptions in his last seven regular-season starts, strengthening his case for additional guaranteed funds. Stafford has all his weapons coming back in 2024 and is a strong QB2 in superflex leagues.

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams appears to be the clear No. 1 back heading into training camp, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports. Williams is coming off a breakout season where he rushed for nearly 1,200 yards with 12 touchdowns in 12 games with the Rams. On paper, Williams should be the workhorse back but there could be some concern because he hasn't played a full season in the league yet. Also, the Rams drafted running back Blake Corum who should be in the mix for touches right away. Despite that, Williams should get the bulk of the carries early in the season. Corum could see an increased workload if Williams struggles, but it's say to assume Williams is going to be leaned on as the No. 1 back to open the season.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been in the offseason retirement rumors over the last two seasons, but he is back for a 16th NFL campaign (fourth with the Rams), and team reporter Stu Jackson said he is looking sharp at the start of training camp. "Matthew Stafford picked up where he left off with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, but best connections were on TD passes to TEs Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen," Jackson wrote on X. The 36-year-old gun-slinger is unlikely to be a trustworthy fantasy option in single-QB leagues, but he's a fine backup or QB2 in Superflex or two-QB formats. Stafford has thrown for at least 4,000 yards in nine of the 10 seasons that he has played in at least 16 contests. With a healthy Kupp and more experienced Nacua, don't be surprised if Los Angeles' continues to have a high-powered passing attack.

Stafford was noticeably absent from Monday's practice due to a contract dispute involving a guaranteed money structure. It would appear that it only took one day for the Rams and Stafford to come to an agreement. Stafford finished 2023 with 3,965 passing yards and 24 touchdowns in 15 games. Stafford helped propel Puka Nacua to his stellar WR4 finish. While Stafford only finished as the QB15, he got hot down the stretch with excellent games between Weeks 13 and 16. Stafford's days as a potential weekly fantasy starter are likely gone, but he could have some streaming value and is an excellent second quarterback in superflex leagues.

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Tuesday. This is unsurprising, as Higbee suffered a torn ACL and MCL during the Rams' Wild Card Game loss to the Lions in January. The Rams signed Colby Parkinson this offseason to serve as their second tight end behind Higbee. Given the timeline of Higbee's injury, Parkinson may begin the year as the starter. Behind Parkinson, the Rams also have interesting second-year player Davis Allen and Hunter Long. Higbee has provided fantasy players with solid value over the years. He finished 2023 with 47 receptions for 495 yards and two touchdowns. Whoever begins the year as the starter should have a solid game here and there. For now, Higbee should be off your draft radar.
