Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson is emerging as the team's No. 3 option behind Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. The veteran pass-catcher entered camp in a competition with Tutu Atwell for the WR3 role, but Robinson has been "emerging" as the better option so far. This isn't necessarily a surprise given that Robinson edged out Atwell in production at times last year. The 29-year-old put together a solid 2023 campaign, catching 26 passes for 371 yards and four touchdowns. His experience and expected volume could make him a worthwhile option in deeper fantasy leagues this year.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Tutu Atwell is losing ground on the competition for WR3, but even if he drops to fourth on the depth chart, the team still has a plan for him. "The Rams run enough 11 personnel that the fourth receiver should get a healthy run," writes Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. "Atwell's quickness and speed make him a unique matchup, and he can play all three receiver spots in the Rams' offense. So barring a great offer, the Rams would rather ride out his contract year with hopes that he maximizes his role." Atwell hasn't quite lived up to expectations in three years since the Rams drafted him with a second-round pick, but he did start to come on strong last year (39 catches, 483 yards, and three touchdowns) when Cooper Kupp missed time due to injury.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) exited practice this past weekend and stayed on the sideline with a bag of ice wrapped around his knee. Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the injury is deemed "not serious." Fantasy managers can wipe the sweat from their brow as last season's NFL Offseason Rookie of the Year should be good to go for Week 1 barring any further setbacks. After being selected in the fifth round by the Rams, the 23-year-old budding superstar set NFL rookie records for receptions and receiving yards en route to being a league winner for fantasy football in 2023. Nacua will be heavily targeted once again with a healthy Cooper Kupp to form a potent one-two punch at receiver for quarterback Matthew Stafford this season. Nacua is a firm WR1 for fantasy managers this season.
Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams ranked third in the NFL in rushing last year, but he also played in only 12 games, missing four contests with a sprained ankle and a fifth game due to rest purposes when the team had already clinched a playoff spot. LA averaged 94.25 rushing yards per game in the four games Williams missed due to injury. Williams is the team's lead RB, but drafting Blake Corum in the third round this year gives the Rams the ability to spell Williams after he averaged 22 touches per game in 2023. Both Williams and Corum have a physical style of running, and the coaching staff sees many similarities in the two of them. Allowing Williams to "stay fresh" this year is something the Rams are prioritizing. Williams had a big year in 2023, but his injury history and the addition of Corum to share the backfield make him a shaky RB1 target in 2024.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) suffered a knee injury this past weekend and is considered week-to-week. According to Adam Schefter, one of his sources said that the injury is "not serious." Fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief that the first description of it came as not one to worry about, but it will be something to monitor as training camp rolls along. The second-year wideout is ranked as the 12th player overall in Rotoballer's fantasy rankings in half-PPR leagues and has an ADP of 11.8. He'll still have to compete with Cooper Kupp for targets, but Matthew Stafford has proven there's more than enough to get Nacua plenty of fantasy points.
