Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) did some throwing on Thursday at the portion of practice open to the media, which is a positive sign as he attempts to play in a must-win Week 18 contest against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Lawrence put in a limited practice on Wednesday after missing the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers due to a right-shoulder injury he suffered in Week 16. All signs are pointing toward the 24-year-old returning this weekend to try and lead the team to a win and the AFC South title. Lawrence could be getting receiver Christian Kirk (core) back as well, which would only boost his fantasy value in Week 18 with many other high-end QBs being rested ahead of the playoffs next week. UPDATE: Lawrence was limited for the second day in a row Thursday.
Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will practice on a limited basis on Wednesday. It's a step toward playing in the must-win Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Lawrence injured his shoulder in Week 16 and was held out of the Week 17 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The 24-year-old is considered day-to-day for now, but it appears both he and receiver Christian Kirk (core) could be active this weekend in game the Jaguars need to win to secure the AFC South division. Since Week 13, Lawrence has dealt with a sprained ankle, a concussion and now a shoulder injury. He's thrown for 990 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions in his last four games played and will be a low-end QB1 for fantasy managers if he's able to play on Sunday against Tennessee.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) could be a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Lawrence missed the first game of his NFL career last week, but the Jags defeated the Carolina Panthers with C.J. Beathard. In Week 18, Jacksonville can clinch the AFC South and a home playoff game in the Wild Card Round with a win over the Tennessee Titans. Needless to say, it's an important contest, and Lawrence will likely play if he's anywhere close to healthy. Fantasy managers or DFS gamers who are still competing in Week 18 should check back for the team's official injury report later in the day.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk (core) has been designated to return from Injured Reserve, per the Jaguars PR account on X. Kirk suffered a core injury early in the Week 13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Jacksonville offense has struggled ever since. It's unclear when Kirk will be able to play, but the team now has 21 days to activate him to the roster. First things first, the team needs a win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday to secure a playoff berth and AFC South title. Assuming they qualify for the postseason, Kirk could be back for the Wild Card Round. Although he may not return before the regular season ends, he's likely to be a popular DFS pick on Wild Card weekend if the Jags take care of business and he's healthy enough to suit up. UPDATE: Kirk was limited in Wednesday's practice.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will open wide receiver Christian Kirk's (groin) 21-day practice window on Wednesday, and he could return for Week 18's regular-season finale versus the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars hope to have all hands on deck on Sunday, currently engaging in a three-way tie atop the AFC South. Jacksonville put Kirk on injured reserve due to a core muscle injury that required surgery following the Week 13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. With Kirk originally expected to miss between six and eight weeks, there's a chance that the 9-7 Jags may push for a sooner return. Before going down, the 27-year-old slot man was acting as one of quarterback Trevor Lawrence's (shoulder) favorite targets for the second year in a row despite Calvin Ridley's presence in 2023. Kirk reeled in 57 of his 85 targets for 787 yards and three touchdowns in 12 appearances, but he may not take on a full workload if available against the Titans.
