Khalil Shakir Scores, Bolsters 2024 Sleeper Case

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir (shoulder) overcame a shoulder injury to close out Sunday's 27-24 Divisional Round defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, tallying team highs in receptions (seven) and targets (nine) with 44 yards and a touchdown. Shakir made an impressive 13-yard catch for a score in the front corner of the end zone late in the third quarter before heading to the locker room, but he returned after just a handful of missed plays. Proving to be a very capable producer when granted opportunities, the 23-year-old second-year wideout hauled in 49 of his 57 targets for 686 yards (12.0 yards per target) and four touchdowns overall this year. Perhaps more versed in supplying efficiency than erratic field stretcher Gabe Davis (knee), Shakir will sport a compelling late-round fantasy-flier case in 2024 drafts with Davis headed for unrestricted free agency and Stefon Diggs turning 31 years old in November.

Dalton Kincaid Ends Promising Year With Team-High 45 Yards

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid led his team with 45 receiving yards as they were beaten 27-24 by the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday's Divisional Round, gathering each of his five targets. Kincaid held on for a tough 15-yard grab along the right sideline on Buffalo's opening possession for his longest pickup, and quarterback Josh Allen turned to him frequently late in the game as a chain-moving presence. There were plenty of ebbs and flows to Kincaid's rookie campaign, but it should be deemed a success overall. The 24-year-old first-rounder concluded his season with either five catches or 59 yards in each of his final four showings all told, bouncing back from a shaky string of play and establishing himself as one of Allen's new favorite weapons. Gabe Davis (knee) is an unrestricted free agent this spring, meaning Kincaid could enter 2024 as the Bills' No. 2 target behind Stefon Diggs and a top-12 option in summer drafts.

Chiefs Bottle Up James Cook Sunday

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook started hot but faded late as his team was sent home in Sunday's 27-24 Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, carrying 18 times for 61 yards and catching four passes for 21 yards. With the Bills dominating on the ground in the first half, Cook picked up one chunk gain after another. But the Chiefs stiffened up to stifle Cook during the second half, leaving the 24-year-old with a fairly quiet evening despite his second straight week with 22 touches. Cook undoubtedly took a big step forward in 2023 -- garnering his first Pro Bowl nod and placing third at his position in scrimmage yards -- but his inability to find the end zone was a major shortcoming. Totaling five TDs on the season on 325 touches including the playoffs, Cook also failed to reach the 90-total-yard threshold in any of his final five appearances. That probably shouldn't prevent Cook from being selected as a top-12 fantasy RB, however, in 2024 drafts.

Josh Allen's Three Scores Not Enough As Bills Fall

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen totaled three touchdowns as his team was eliminated from the postseason in Sunday's 27-24 Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 26-of-39 for 186 yards and adding 72 yards on 12 carries. The Bills imposed their will in the trenches during the first half, which was punctuated by short Allen rushing scores on two QB keepers. Allen found Khalil Shakir from 13 yards out to continue Sunday's seesaw affair, putting Buffalo up temporarily in the third quarter. With the loss, the Bills fell in the Divisional Round at home in back-to-back years. And after the Chiefs held Allen to a season-low 5.5 yards per attempt in Week 14, they doubled down to allow 4.8 YPA on Sunday. Buffalo's offseason moves remain to be seen, but it's clear that impending free agent Gabe Davis' (knee) absence was felt with Stefon Diggs scuffling down the stretch. Regardless, Allen will be a top-two QB1 in 2024 fantasy drafts.

Khalil Shakir Returns To Sunday's Game

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir (shoulder) returned to Sunday's meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs. He suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter. However, after getting checked out in the locker room, he's back in the game. The update is undoubtedly good news for Buffalo, considering the wideout had a team-high six grabs while scoring a touchdown before exiting.
