James Cook Due For Another Busy Night In Week 2

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook may not get the red zone opportunities that fantasy managers love, but he'll get plenty of touches elsewhere on the field. Although on the field for just over 60% of Buffalo's snaps in Week 1, James Cook dominated backfield touches. He carried the ball 19 times and caught three passes. Rookie Ray Davis got four touches while veteran Ty Johnson received two. With offensive coordinator Joe Brady's reliance on the running game since he took the helm, Cook is in line for another 15-20 touch game. Consider Cook a low-end RB1 against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.

Josh Allen Tops Fantasy Football Rankings Again In Week 2

There's no concern about the matchup for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (hand) in Week 2. The two-time Pro Bowler has passed for over 300 yards and scored multiple touchdowns in each of his last five matchups against the Miami Dolphins. The 45 rushing yards he's averaged in those contests is the cherry on top. Although he only threw for 232 yards in his season debut, Allen's four touchdowns confirm that the Buffalo scoring offense runs through the quarterback. Allen is dealing with an injury to his non-throwing hand, but he's been a full participant in practice this week. Allen belongs in starting lineups in every fantasy league.

Josh Allen A Full Participant In Practice

In case fantasy managers were at all concerned, quarterback Josh Allen (left hand) was a full participant in Tuesday's walk-through. Head coach Sean McDermott had previously confirmed that Allen was cleared to practice and ultimately play in Thursday's upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins. Allen is an iron man and is no stranger to playing through injury. The good news is that his injury occurred to his non-throwing hand. While it may affect ball security, it should not affect Allen's ability to perform. Allen threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns while adding 39 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 1. He will look to build on those numbers in Week 2.

Ty Johnson To Be Limited On Tuesday

Buffalo Bills running back Ty Johnson (knee) will be a limited participant in the team's practice on Tuesday as they prepare for a short week in Week 2 with a Thursday night matchup against the division-rival Miami Dolphins. Johnson was injured in the season-opening win over the visiting Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and could be questionable to suit up against Miami on a short week. If the 26-year-old isn't cleared by Thursday night, rookie Ray Davis will have a bigger role as the change-of-pace back behind starter James Cook. In Week 1 against Arizona, Johnson was second in Buffalo's backfield while playing 23% of the offensive snaps compared to 61% for Cook and only 10% for Davis. Johnson saw just two carries for seven yards and missed his only target in the passing game. He's only stash-worthy as a handcuff in the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Josh Allen Cleared To Practice, Will Play On Thursday Night

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said on Monday that quarterback Josh Allen (hand) has been cleared to practice this week and will play on Thursday Night Football in Week 2 against the division-rival Miami Dolphins. On his second rushing touchdown of the Week 1 win over the visiting Arizona Cardinals, Allen injured his left (non-throwing) hand after leaping a defender to cross the goal line. However, the 28-year-old dual-threat signal-caller said after Sunday's game that he thought he was "fine," although he was expected to undergo cautionary X-rays. Apparently the X-rays didn't show anything concerning and Allen will be good to go this week. In the Week 1 comeback win, it wasn't all pretty for Allen, but in the end he threw for two touchdowns and scored two with his legs. With Allen being good to go for Week 2, keep him locked in fantasy lineups as an elite QB1.UPDATE: Allen was estimated as a full-go on Monday since the team didn't actually hold a practice.
