James Cook Projects For RB1 Production Again In Week 3

It's doubtful that Buffalo Bills running back James Cook scores three touchdowns and wins AFC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week but he still is ranked as an RB1 heading into the team's matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are allowing over 100 rushing yards per game. They're also struggling on offense. With a lead, the Bills could lean more on Cook. Regardless of the game script, he will continue to be the focal point of the Buffalo offense, registering over 70 yards on the ground in both contests while adding extra yardage in the passing game. Expect at least 15 touches from Cook on Monday Night Football and start him confidently as an RB1.

Josh Allen Keeps QB1 Status Against Jacksonville

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen isn't throwing the football as often as he did in previous seasons, but his efficiency and rushing abilities keep him a top fantasy football option in Week 3. Allen is attempting 21 passes per game so far this season, the second lowest among starting quarterbacks. Reduced opportunity numbers (19 pass attempts, two carries) doomed fantasy managers in Week 2. Unfortunately, a matchup against a struggling Jacksonville offense may not help. Should the Bills jump out to another quick lead on Monday Night Football, the coaching staff could rely on James Cook and the running attack again. Still, it's unwise to pivot to another quarterback, knowing that Allen is capable of tallying four touchdowns in the blink of an eye.

Amari Cooper Looking To Shake Off Slow Start

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper is off to an extremely slow start in 2024, posting just five catches for 27 yards with a handful of bad drops. He will look to turn things around at home in Week 3 against the New York Giants. The Giants have been solid against receivers so far this season, allowing just the 19th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Cooper is tough to trust based on his first two games and could soon be passed by Jerry Jeudy as the team's No. 1 receiver, who has handily outproduced him this season. Treat Cooper as a low-end WR3 in fantasy heading into Week 3.

Amari Cooper Catches Just Three Passes In Week 2

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught three of his eight targets for 11 yards in an 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. It was another quiet outing for Cooper, who struggled with drops for the second consecutive contest. Cooper tied for the team lead in targets but was vastly outproduced by Jerry Jeudy, who went for 73 yards on five catches. Overall, the veteran wideout has just five catches for 27 yards through the first two games of the season. With Cooper struggling and with Deshaun Watson taking a liking to Jeudy in the passing game, fantasy managers should downgrade him to a WR4 heading into a Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants.

Amari Cooper Looks To Bounce Back In Week 2

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper turned in a disappointing Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, catching just two passes for 16 yards and dropping a long would-be touchdown near the Dallas five-yard line. He will look to bounce back in a much more favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road in Week 2. The Jaguars secondary struggled in Week 1, allowing both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to post 100-yard games. While the Cleveland offense looked bad in Week 1, Cooper should find more room to operate this weekend, making him a high-end WR3.
