Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday's contest against the Boston Celtics. Sidelined for a fourth straight game with a sprained left big toe, the 23-year-old paint presence looks to return in Saturday's matchup versus the Milwaukee Bucks. Starting center Clint Capela has posted three consecutive double-doubles in Okongwu's absence, while backup big man Bruno Fernando has received more run from Atlanta's second unit. Fernando is averaging 15.0 points on 76.0% shooting from the field, 6.0 boards, and 2.0 combined steals plus blocks in 21.9 minutes over his last three outings for the 33-39 Hawks, but he'll take on a Celtics team allowing the third-fewest FanDuel points to opposing centers.
Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) has already been ruled out for their game against the Boston Celtics on Monday. Okongwu wasn't able to play in their last game either which ended up being a 41-point blowout against the Charlotte Hornets. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old has watched from the sidelines more often than he's played over the last month or so. While he's out, Clint Capela should remain in the starting five while Bruno Fernando plays cleanup duty coming off of the bench. Both big men have been solid streaming options for rebounds, efficiency, and blocks.
Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) will sit out Saturday's game against Charlotte. The team listed Okongwu as doubtful on the initial injury report, so he was always likely to miss the game. With Okongwu sidelined, Bruno Fernando is set to fill the minutes behind starting center Clint Capela. It's a wonderful matchup for Atlanta's big men, as Charlotte gives up the third-most points in the league to centers, and only Washington has allowed more rebounds to the position.
Atlanta Hawks forward/center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) is unlikely to suit up against the Hornets. He recently sat out a month because of a big toe injury. However, Okongwu has appeared in Atlanta's previous two games and logged nearly 20 minutes per contest. Yet, the 23-year-old is expected to get the night off to take a breather before potentially returning on Monday night versus Boston. The Hawks' injury report is loaded, so Bruno Fernando and De'Andre Hunter could be productive enough to make a difference for DFS participants.
Atlanta Hawks forward/center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) will play on Monday against the Lakers. The 23-year-old missed over a month because of a big toe issue. However, the Hawks are glad to get him back, considering the team is holding on to the final Play-In spot in the Eastern Conference. Before going down with the injury, the 23-year-old had averaged a career-high 10.2 points with 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. While there's a chance Okongwu could see limited action in his first game back after a lengthy layoff, his presence means Bruno Fernando will have trouble getting minutes.
