Charlotte Hornets forwards Miles Bridges (wrist) and Brandon Miller (wrist) are both questionable for Wednesday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The injury-plagued 18-57 Hornets could be in serious trouble in this one, as their entire starting lineup could be watching from the sidelines. Bridges has a right wrist contusion, and Miller is dealing with a sprained wrist. It's anyone's guess who would benefit most from a fantasy perspective if one or both of the two forwards are out, but Davis Bertans and Aleksej Pokusevski would likely handle heavy minutes in the frontcourt and attract the attention of some fantasy managers as streamers in a soft matchup against the 19-58 Blazers. It's difficult to cast judgements on Charlotte's rotation at this time with such a deep injury report, though.
The Charlotte Hornets have upgraded forward Miles Bridges (elbow) from probable to available for Wednesday's contest versus the Chicago Bulls. A left elbow contusion clouded Bridges' availability a bit on Wednesday, but Charlotte has officially given him the green light to suit up, and he hasn't sat out since Dec. 18. The 25-year-old playmaking forward is playing top-50 ball in nine-category fantasy leagues this year, averaging 20.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists 2.3 threes, and 1.1 steals in 34 games for the Hornets. Although Wednesday's matchup carries the lowest implied point total (214.5) of the nine-game slate, Bridges belongs in all season-long lineups,.
Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges (elbow) is considered probable for a game against Chicago on Wednesday. The 25-year-old is dealing with a left elbow contusion, but the injury isn't expected to keep Bridges out of action. Bridges has put together a very strong stretch of games recently and will go for an eighth consecutive game with 20-plus points on Wednesday. He's also logged three double-doubles during his recent scoring surge.
Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges will become a free agent following the 2023-24 NBA season and is expected to be a prominent name in trade talks until the Feb. 8 deadline. Bridges missed all of last season and served a 10-game suspension to start this year due to a domestic-violence case, but he is currently among the 10 or more players on the Phoenix Suns' radar. If traded, Bridges would lose his bird rights, meaning teams cannot go over the salary cap to pay him, and he can also veto any trade. The Suns don't have the cap space to retain him in the offseason, but Bridges could provide a significant boost for their title run this season. He is currently averaging 20.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 36 minutes per game.
