Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday (elbow) is listed as questionable ahead of Wednesday's clash with the Spurs. Holiday continues to nurse a right elbow sprain he suffered late last month. However, he has been pushing through the injury and has yet to miss a game since the turn of the year. It appears likely that Holiday will play on Wednesday, but if he's out, fantasy managers should focus on Payton Pritchard. He's done well in recent games, and Pritchard's fantasy stock could receive an additional boost Wednesday with the absence of Derrick White (ankle), who's also considered questionable.
Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday (elbow) will be available for Wednesday's battle with the Minnesota Timberwolves as the team looks to stay undefeated at home this year. The Celtics are monitoring Holiday's sprained right elbow but haven't held him out since the New Year's Eve blowout win over the San Antonio Spurs. The two-way All-Star has been fine for fantasy purposes, as evidenced by averages of a career-high 6.5 rebounds alongside 4.7 assists, and 1.9 three-pointers, but his 13.1 points per game are his lowest since his rookie year back in 2009-10. Holiday's usage rate (16.8%) is also his lowest ever, so managers are going to have to deal with his diminished role in this stacked Boston lineup. Holiday may show up on the Celts' injury report for Thursday's second part of a back-to-back and "revenge game" against his former Milwaukee Bucks team.
Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday (elbow) is questionable ahead of Wednesday's game versus the Timberwolves. The 33-year-old veteran continues to deal with a right elbow sprain, an injury that's bothered him for weeks. However, he's played through the ailment, recently accruing 21 points, six rebounds, six assists, and one steal in Monday's loss to the Indiana Pacers. Of course, his statistical output was higher than usual in that one, considering Jayson Tatum (ankle) wasn't in the lineup. At any rate, Holiday remains a must-start for fantasy managers despite his decrease in production throughout the 2023-24 campaign. But if he doesn't suit up, Sam Hauser (shoulder), who isn't listed on the league's official injury report, and Payton Pritchard could see more minutes. Yet, with Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and potentially Kristaps Porzingis (knee) on the floor, it's tough for anyone else to get involved.
