Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet (groin) won't return to the court until after the All-Star break. Including Monday's game, Vanvleet has missed four straight games due to a lingering groin issue. At this point, the Rockets are going to play it safe and shut down Vanvleet so he can get some rest. In the meantime, Amen Thompson should continue to start while Vanvleet is out. He's well worth a look as a streaming option while he's in the starting five. Also, Jalen Green figures to handle most of the ball-handling responsibilities which should boost his fantasy value.
Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet (groin) has been ruled out ahead of Tuesday's game against the Indiana Pacers. It's being reported that Vanvleet could be sidelined for roughly a week due to this issue. Possibly, the Rockets hold out Vanvleet until the All-Star Break, but they will likely take it as day-to-day. Amen Thompson started in place of Vanvleet when he missed a last game last month. Thompson would be worth a look as a streaming option if he gets another chance in the starting unit.
Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet (groin) won't play on Tuesday versus the Indiana Pacers. The former Raptor has averaged 16.5 points, 8.2 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.0 blocks. But he's now battling a strained left groin, which isn't a good scenario for Houston, a team that hasn't been consistent all year. VanVleet may miss more games moving ahead, including upcoming stops in Toronto and Atlanta. However, until he returns, Aaron Holiday, Amen Thompson, and Jalen Green should see more scoring chances. All three should also get a bump in usage without VanVleet in the equation.
Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet (back) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Vanvleet was held out of Sunday's game due to lower back tightness. Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore saw increased roles in the rotation with the Rockets missing multiple players. Vanvleet's return should mean a decreased role for Whitmore, while Thompson could remain with a significant role. Regardless, fantasy managers who have Vanvleet rostered should be able to get him back in their lineups for Wednesday's slate.
Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet (back) won't play on Sunday against the Celtics. He's battling lower back tightness. But he logged 34 minutes in Saturday's overtime victory over the Utah Jazz, so the team is likely playing it safe on the second night of consecutive outings. With Jabari Smith Jr. (ankle) also out, Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun should be the team's primary scoring options. However, there's room for Dillon Brooks, Aaron Holiday, and Jae'Sean Tate to get more involved.
