Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (shoulder) has picked up a questionable tag ahead of Friday's encounter with the Hornets. He's a late addition to the injury report with a sore right shoulder. 76ers head coach Nick Nurse might have to switch up his starting lineup again after inserting Oubre Jr. back into the first unit on Tuesday versus Boston. If Oubre Jr. won't be available, Nicolas Batum might get a fresh opportunity in the starting five against his former team in a very favorable matchup. The Hornets are ranked 27th in defensive efficiency, and Milwaukee has just crushed them in back-to-back games. Philadelphia should be capable of something similar Friday night.
Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Washington Wizards. The superstar forward has been forced to miss each of the last two games due to a lingering knee issue. Head coach Ty Lue has used Norman Powell and Amir Coffey to each start a game in his absence. It's unknown which player will get the starting nod if George is unable to play. Powell is the much better streaming choice if he's given the chance to start. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Friday for another update on his status.
On Thursday, Phoenix Suns guard Eric Gordon (groin) is officially out versus one of his former teams, the Houston Rockets. He was absent from the Suns game on Sunday with the injury. With Bradley Beal (hamstring) unavailable for the contest, Royce O'Neale will likely be the starter. At 35-years-old Gordon is averaging 12.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 29.8 minutes per game while seeing action in 49 contests this season.
Philadelphia 76ers small forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Charlotte. He's in danger of missing a third consecutive contest with right ankle impingement. 76ers head coach Nick Nurse noted on Thursday that Martin Jr. got through "about three quarters" of practice, which doesn't sound too promising regarding his potential comeback on Friday. Before landing on the shelf, Martin Jr. had gained some momentum, averaging 7.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 19.5 minutes this month.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) said Thursday he still hopes to come back this season. Embiid says he's feeling good but there's no timeline for his return, and that it doesn't matter where the team is at, if he can play, he's going to play. The Sixers are 7-17 without the reigning MVP this season and are beginning to border on Eastern Conference play-in status, with fantasy managers looking to get the two-time scoring champion back for their playoffs. Embiid underwent surgery to address an injury to the lateral meniscus in his left knee on Feb. 6 and is slated to be re-evaluated in early March, and ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that there's hope Embiid can return in late March. Although Paul Reed has started Philly's last 12 games, he's only averaging 7.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 26.0 minutes during February and is only a low-end streamer right now.
