New Orleans Pelicans forwardBrandon Ingram (ankles) will not suit up against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to bilateral ankle sprains on Wednesday. Ingram is likely sitting out for precautionary reasons, as the Pelicans are in the second half of back-to-back sets. Trey Murphy III (hamstring) will also have the evening off to rest. With plenty of minutes on the table, players like Brandon Boston, Javonte Green, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl would likely see their roles to expand against the Cavs.
On Tuesday, ESPN's Shams Charania said on the Pat McAfee show that New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (hamstring) will be out for a "considerable amount of time." The Pelicans had already announced Saturday that the 24-year-old would be out indefinitely. Williamson has averaged 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.2 blocks this regular season. However, he's been limited to only six games. With Williamson out moving forward,Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, averaging 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in two starts this season, can hopefully continue to fill the void in the rotation.
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Tuesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. This will be the fourth straight game that Alvarado has missed due to his hamstring strain. With the Pelicans dealing with a litany of injuries, the sooner the 26-year-old can get his high-energy style back on the court the better. Expect Brandon Boston Jr. (12.3 PPG) to continue getting additional minutes.
New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado (hamstring) remains out heading into Saturday's meeting with the visiting Los Angeles Lakers. The 26-year-old will now miss his third-straight contest, so his next chance to get on the floor will be on Tuesday in Dallas. The Pelicans' injury report is loaded with names, meaning fantasy managers may see expanded production from Brandon Ingram, Brandon Boston Jr., and Javonte Green.
New Orleans Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III (hamstring) won't play in Saturday's matchup versus the Los Angeles Lakers. The 24-year-old recently returned to the lineup after missing the start of the 2024-25 campaign because of a hamstring injury. He's played relatively well in his three appearances, averaging 14.3 points. But with Murphy logging 30 minutes in Friday's win over the Denver Nuggets, he'll get the night off to rest before likely getting back on the floor for Tuesday's game in Dallas. With that in mind, the Pelicans are thin across the board due to various injuries, meaning Brandon Ingram, Brandon Boston Jr., and Javonte Green could finish as New Orleans top performers.
