Updating a previous report, Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino (leg) left Tuesday night's game against the Minnesota Twins early with a lower left-leg contusion. X-rays came back negative and he is considered day-to-day for now. Pasquantino collided with Twins outfielder Byron Buxton in the third inning and took a knee to the shin that forced him to hit the showers early. Thankfully, the injury doesn't appear to be very serious, although the 26-year-old left-handed-hitting first baseman could get the day off on Wednesday as a precaution. Before leaving the game, Pasquantino struck out in his only plate appearance to drop his season average to .224. Salvador Perez moved from catcher to first base to replace Pasquantino. He has looked better at the plate in May, but he also hasn't homered since May 9.

As a result, Salvador Perez will shift to first base, which opens catching duties for Freddy Fermin, who will bat in the five-hole. Fermin has posted an excellent 11.1% K rate and a modest .241/.302/.328 line with one long ball through 20 games. He could be worth consideration in DFS as he faces southpaw Patrick Sandoval, who enters Sunday with a 4.85 ERA and 1.49 WHIP.

Hitting third in the Royals lineup every day presents him with significant opportunities to get on the scoresheet while batting behind superstar Bobby Witt Jr. and in front of backstop Salvador Perez. Pasquantino is a solid play in any DFS matchup and should always remain in your fantasy lineup.

Pasquantino was off to a slow start, as he tallied just five hits in his first eleven games. Since then, Pasquantino has hit for a .583 AVG with two doubles and one home run. Salvador Perez will shift to first base today, and Freddy Fermin will serve as the backstop for pitcher Alec Marsh. This will be Fermin's sixth start of the season and will have a difficult matchup as he faces southpaw Sean Manaea, who has a dominant 0.82 ERA and 0.73 WHIP across his first two starts.
