Washington Nationals starting pitcher MacKenzie Gore had an impressive performance against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Thursday's tough luck loss. The lefty tossed six quality innings and allowed seven hits, one run, two walks and recorded four strikeouts. Gore's only run allowed was a home run from outfielder Teoscar Hernandez in the top of the second inning. Gore has really taken a step forward in 2024 and is now 2-2 with a 3.12 ERA to go along with 31 strikeouts and eight walks in 26 innings. Despite the walks, Gore is looking like the pitcher many projected him to be when he was the top pitching prospect in the league as a prospect. Gore will look to keep it going in another tough matchup versus the Texas Rangers on Tuesday.

Washington Nationals starting pitcher MacKenzie Gore had a superb outing on Saturday against the Oakland A's, striking out 11 batters without giving up a run in five innings. Gore was credited with his second win of the season as well as the Nationals won 3-1. The lefty's dominant performance helped decrease his ERA to 2.81 after three starts. Gore's increase in strikeouts were a great sight to see for fantasy managers who have been anxious for the lefty to recapture the hype that was behind him when he was coming up with the San Diego Padres. Though his start to the season has been promising, expectations may need to be tempered during his next start on Friday when the Houston Astros play in Washington DC.

Washington Nationals pitcher MacKenzie Gore endured a rather interesting outing on Sunday against the New York Mets. The left-hander worked 4 2/3 innings and was roughed up for eight earned runs on nine hits, including one homer, and walked two. At the same time, he racked up a whopping 10 strikeouts to give him 19 punchouts across 15 1/3 innings this spring, albeit alongside a 5.87 ERA. He had largely pitched well across his first three Grapefruit League outings but the odd outing on Sunday skyrocketed his spring ERA. The former Padres top prospect worked to a 4.42 ERA and a solid 16.2% K-BB% across 27 starts with the Nationals last season before a finger injury ended his campaign. ATC projects similar numbers for him this time around, making Gore a middling fantasy asset, albeit with solid strikeout numbers.
