Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (finger) will move over from the hot corner to designated hitter ahead of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. Rangers' manager Bruce Bochy told reporters that Jung is having issues throwing the ball right now due to a cut on his finger. That being said, Ezequiel Duran will play third base while Robbie Grossman goes from DH to left field. The expectation is that this is a minor injury and Jung should return to third base in a few days. The 26-year-old has missed a good chunk of the 2024 season but is hitting .255 with four home runs and nine RBI in 26 games thus far.
Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung is not in the team's starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox. Jung will be replaced at the hot corner by Josh Smith, who will hit in the three-hole against Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck. The 26-year-old Jung made the All-Star team in 2023 in his first full season in the big leagues, but 2024 has been a much different story. The right-handed slugger fractured his wrist early in the year, which has limited him to 17 games. In those 17 games, he's hit .265/.296/.471 with a .766 OPS, three homers and seven RBI. Since returning from his wrist injury, he's gone 11-for-51 (.216) with a homer and 19 K's in 13 games since July 30. Smith, on the other hand, is having a career year with 12 homers, 51 RBI and seven steals, and will be a solid low-cost DFS play on Wednesday.
Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) is making his long awaited return to the starting lineup. The young slugger has been sidelined since early April due to a fractured wrist. He was activated off the injured list on Monday after missing most of the first half of the season. The expectation is that Jung is going to get regular playing time through the rest of the regular season. He'll bat seventh and cover third base versus right-hander Lance Lynn on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups with Jung back in the picture.
Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) has been activated off the 60-day injured list on Monday. The young slugger has been sidelined since early April after undergoing wrist surgery. He's not in the starting lineup on Monday as the team gave him a day off after three straight starts during his minor league rehab assignment. The Rangers will need to move people around, but Jung should be an everyday player once he's back to full health. He blasted 23 home runs with 70 RBI in 122 games with the Rangers last season.
Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Friday. The 26-year-old was expected to start his rehab work this weekend but he appears to be slightly ahead of schedule. Jung has missed most of the season after he underwent surgery on his fractured wrist in April. The expectation is that he'll need a handful of games before he's ready to rejoin the Rangers lineup. He could be back in Texas at some point next week, assuming everything goes well. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for more updates and keep him stashed everywhere.
