Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran had a monster game Monday as his team fell to the Toronto Blue Jays 7-3. Batting from the leadoff spot, Duran went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a two-run home run in Monday's loss. The 27-year-old has been solid all year for the Red Sox but has been scorching hot lately. In his last seven games, he has been slashing .417/.517/1.000 with three homers, five RBI, eight runs, five walks, and a stolen base. Duran will be a key player as the Red Sox hope to secure an AL Wild Card spot.
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran had a solid overall offensive performance in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Astros. Duran went 4-for-4 with two singles, a double, a two-run home run, three runs scored, and a walk. The 27-year-old put the Red Sox ahead for good, taking an eighth-inning Kaleb Ort fastball to the opposite field, putting it in the Crawford boxes. Duran has been a five-category fantasy contributor this season, slashing .292/.350/.511 with 17 HR, 87 runs scored, 64 RBI, and 31 stolen bases in 576 plate appearances. He should continue to help fantasy managers down the stretch, especially if the Red Sox continue to produce overall offensively.
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran is back from his two-game suspension and is starting in left field and batting in his customary leadoff spot on Wednesday against the visiting Texas Rangers and right-hander Dane Dunning at Fenway Park. Fantasy managers will want to get Duran back into all starting lineups. He's faced Dunning six times in his career and is hitting .333 off him with a 1.166 OPS. The 27-year-old left-handed hitter has been one of the more productive leadoff hitters in baseball in 2024 and also won the All-Star game MVP award. He'll return to a .291/.350/.503 slash line with an .853 OPS, 14 home runs, 58 RBI, 29 stolen bases and 80 runs scored in 491 at-bats. Duran can contribute across all categories for fantasy managers.
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran has been suspended for two games on Monday after he uttered an anti-gay slur at a fan during Sunday's game against the visiting Houston Astros. Duran's suspension will begin effective immediately, and he'll miss Monday night's game against the Texas Rangers. Fantasy managers will obviously want to keep him out of their daily lineups for Monday's and Tuesday's games, but he should be back in there on Wednesday. With Duran out on Monday, Ceddanne Rafaela is in center field and batting ninth, Rob Refsnyder is in left field and hitting third, and Wilyer Abreu is in right field and in the six-hole against Rangers right-hander Tyler Mahle. Duran is in the midst of a breakout campaign in 2024 and is a must-start in fantasy lineups when he's in Boston's starting lineup this year.
Major League Baseball is considering its options regarding the incident with Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran, and a decision will be reached later on Monday or no later than Tuesday. In previous instances, the league has worked with teams and approved discipline levied by a club. Television microphones picked up Duran's use of a homophobic slur directed at a fan during Sunday's contest against the Houston Astros. At the very least, fantasy managers should expect the 27-year-old to miss the upcoming series against the Texas Rangers that starts on Monday. But outside of that, it's unclear how long Duran might be forced to sit out. Duran was a first-time All-Star this year and won the Midsummer Classic MVP award. He's having a breakout year and leads the league in plate appearances (541), doubles (36) and triples (13) while slashing .291/.350/.503 in 116 games.
