Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman continued to heat up offensively in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-innings win over the Athletics. Bregman went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run, and a strikeout. The 30-year-old is slashing just .225/.293/.358 in 167 plate appearances but has now hit three HR in his last two games and has been hitting much better lately. Bregman is a proven fantasy option and fantasy managers should give him time to figure things out, which he already may be doing.
Houston Astros third basemen Alex Bregman torched Oakland A's pitching, going 3-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI, and three runs scored. He started his big day with a solo home run in the fourth inning, another solo shot in the seventh, and then capped off his night with a two-run double as the Astros beat the A's 9-2. It's been an underwhelming start to the season, with his slash line at .218/.288/.327 and his demotion to the seventh spot in the batting order. Hopefully, Bregman will look to carry the momentum from Monday into the following three games against the A's pitching staff to finally get out of the early season funk he has been in.
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (illness) is back at third base and is hitting cleanup for the Astros on Monday against the visiting Atlanta Braves and right-hander Darius Vines after missing the last three games with an illness. Fantasy managers will want to get Bregman back in their lineups for the week. The 30-year-old will look to get things rolling at the plate after a slow start to the season. The two-time All-Star is currently slashing .241/.305/.333 with no home runs, two RBI, a stolen base, two runs scored and nine strikeouts in 59 plate appearances over his first 14 games played. This will be the first time that Bregman has faced Vines in the big leagues.
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (illness) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. The stud corner infielder will now miss his third game in a row due to a lingering illness. It's unlikely that the Astros need to place Bregman on the injured list, but fantasy managers should stay tuned. Mauricio Dubon will get the start at third base and bat ninth versus right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. Fantasy managers should avoid Dubon in this tough matchup.
Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (illness) is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers. He is resting at home and will miss his second consecutive game due to an illness. The 30-year-old has briefly popped up at the clubhouse but still needs another day off. Bregman is considered day-to-day. Mauricio Dubon will start at third base and is batting ninth for the Astros in Saturday's game. He is slashing .259/.286/.333 with two doubles, five RBI, and two strikeouts over 10 games in 2024. Dubon can be used as a streamer in deep leagues against Rangers left-hander Andrew Heaney, who has struggled this season with a 7.56 ERA over his first two starts.
