Titans Giving Tony Pollard A Three-Year Deal

Updating a previous report, the Tennessee Titans are set to give free-agent running back Tony Pollard a three-year deal worth $24 million, according to a source. The deal won't become official until Wednesday, but this officially signals that the Titans are moving on from Derrick Henry, which was expected all along. Pollard brings a completely different dynamic than King Henry in the backfield. While Pollard should be expected to see most of the backfield touches in Tennessee, second-year back Tyjae Spears should also be heavily involved, which will hurt Pollard's overall fantasy ceiling. The 26-year-old has gone over 1,000 yards rushing in each of the last two seasons for the Dallas Cowboys, but he averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry in 2023 and is moving to a much less explosive offense in Tennessee with an unproven second-year QB in Will Levis.

Titans Expected To Sign Tony Pollard

The Tennessee Titans are expected to sign free-agent running back Tony Pollard, according to a league source. Nothing is official and teams cannot announce free-agent signings until Wednesday, but it looks like Pollard is going to leave the Dallas Cowboys for the Titans to replace Derrick Henry in Tennessee. The 26-year-old should be in line for lead-back duties in Tennessee, although second-year back Tyjae Spears earned more playing time after an impressive rookie campaign in 2023. Even though Pollard eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing for the second straight season in 2024 with Dallas, he averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry and didn't look the same after suffering a serious leg injury the previous postseason. He could be more efficient another year removed from the injury, but the move to the Titans is a big offensive downgrade behind an offensive line with plenty of question marks.

Calvin Ridley Unlikely To Return To Jaguars

Impending free agent wide receiver Calvin Ridley is unlikely to return to the Jacksonville Jaguars after the team placed the franchise tag on edge rusher Josh Allen, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. Ridley is a top wideout option in the 2024 free-agent class and will command a contract that the Jaguars are either unwilling or unable to match. The organization has until Monday, March 11 to exclusively negotiate with Ridley before other teams can contact him. After being out of football for over a full calendar year, Ridley returned in 2023 and posted 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. His potential landing spot will determine his future fantasy value, but he will be firmly on the fantasy radar wherever he plays in 2024.

Mason Rudolph Could Return To Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph is set to become a free agent this season. The former third-round pick from 2018 could very well end up right back in Pittsburgh. Recently, Steelers general manager Nick Khan said they want to bring back Rudolph next season. It sounds like the organization still has full faith in Kenny Pickett under center. However, they want to bring in some competition in case Pickett fails to claim the starting gig. Rudolph knows the system well and led the team to a 3-0 record this past season. The Steelers even started Rudolph during their playoff game versus the Buffalo Bills. The 28-year-old isn't going to save the franchise. Although, Rudolph could be a bridge option for the team if Pickett doesn't work out.

Titans Still Believe In Will Levis As Their Starter

According to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, the Tennessee Titans still believe in quarterback Will Levis as their starter, and one of their top priorities this offseason is getting him receivers. It remains to be seen if general manager Ran Carthon drafts one of the top three wideouts -- Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, or Rome Odunze -- at No. 7 overall in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. The Titans could also use an NFL-high $75 million-plus in salary cap space to go after a top veteran in free agency. They could also do both to help support Levis. The 24-year-old had an up-and-down first year in the NFL in 2023 with 1,808 passing yards, eight TDs and four picks in nine starts, but now he has an offensive-minded head coach in Brian Callahan and should get some shiny new receiving weapons to boost his fantasy upside this offseason.
