Chase Edmonds Suiting Up Against Lions

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Chase Edmonds (toe) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the right direction after practicing in a limited capacity on Friday. Edmonds occupied a depth role behind Rachaad White this year, averaging 3.8 carries and 14.5 rushing yards per game during the regular season. In the opening round of the playoffs last week, he was more involved, rushing seven times while also adding an eight-yard reception.

Bucs, Baker Mayfield Have Mutual Interest In 2024 Reunion

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Baker Mayfield have mutual interest in him returning to the team for the 2024 season, and his emergence this season has led NFL teams to inquire about offensive coordinator Dave Canales. Mayfield signed a one-year, prove-it deal with Tampa for the 2023 campaign and had the best season of his career, throwing for a career-high 4,044 yards, 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 17 regular-season starts while leading the Bucs to a Divisional Round appearance on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Because of the strong season, Mayfield could cash in with a big QB contract, but the Buccaneers also have the option to use the franchise tag on him. He'll also receive $250,000 per playoff win, so he could become a lot richer on Sunday with a second straight playoff victory over Detroit.

Chris Godwin Has Interesting Streaming Appeal

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (knee, personal) will play in Sunday's playoff game against the Detroit Lions despite missing two practices this week. He has stepped up during the second half of the season. In fact, Godwin has registered 50 receiving yards or more in five of his last six games. Throughout most of the first half of the season, Godwin was playing second fiddle to fellow wideout Mike Evans. Now, Godwin is actually getting more involved in the offense. Last week, Godwin hauled in four of his five targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in the victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Godwin has surprisingly found the end zone in two of his last three games. He has played well enough lately that the Bucs should continue to look his way during this weekend's game against the Lions.

Baker Mayfield Looks To Stay Hot

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (ribs, ankle) is good to go ahead of Sunday's playoff game against the Detroit Lions. Mayfield is coming into this game dealing with multiple nagging injuries, but appears ready to go. Last weekend, Mayfield threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The biggest fear for fantasy managers is that Mayfield isn't at 100 percent health yet. He was able to get the job done against the shaky Eagles defense. However, Mayfield could have a tougher time finding success against the Lions this weekend. That being said, Mayfield will be a cheap DFS option, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect another 300-yard performance.

Chase Edmonds To Be Questionable For Sunday's Game

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that running back Chase Edmonds (toe) will be questionable for the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. After not practicing on Wednesday and Thursday, Edmonds returned to practice on Friday and at least has a chance to suit up against Detroit. Even if the 27-year-old is cleared to play this weekend, he's not much of an option for fantasy lineups in DFS as the clear backup to starter Rachaad White. Edmonds didn't have a single game during the regular season with double-digit half-PPR points. In total, he had 49 carries for 176 yards and no touchdowns. If Edmonds is unable to play against the Lions, rookie Sean Tucker would have a bigger role as the No. 2 behind White in an offense that prefers to throw the ball.
