New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) is off of the injury report for Week 18, logging limited practices throughout the week. The veteran picks up his second consecutive start and fifth overall this season. In three of those starts, he's drawn some of the weakest secondaries in the NFL (Washington, Los Angeles, and now Philadelphia). In one half of action two weeks ago against the Eagles, Taylor threw for 133 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, which came on the final play of the game. He's also connected with Darius Slayton on long touchdowns in back-to-back games. Taylor is an interesting QB2 option in fantasy football and the matchup makes him a strong candidate for DFS lineups.
New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) was limited in the team's practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. It was announced earlier this week that Taylor would make his second straight start for the G-Men to close out the year in Week 18 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. We fully expect Taylor to be fine to play this weekend, but in the event the Giants play it safe and hold the veteran out, it would be rookie Tommy Devito making the start instead. For those feeling frisky in DFS, the 34-year-old Taylor could be a worthwhile, low-cost play while facing an Eagles defense that has been very generous to opposing QBs all year. On top of it, the Eagles could be resting key veterans on both sides of the ball this weekend with an eye toward getting healthier for the postseason. Taylor threw for over 300 yards with a TD and a pick in the one-point loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17.
New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) was a limited participant in Wednesday's team practice. Earlier on Wednesday, Giants head coach Brian Daboll named Taylor the official starter for Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles, so the back issue doesn't appear to be a serious injury. The veteran quarterback will have two more chances to upgrade his practice status before facing a pass-friendly Eagles defense. Philadelphia has allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, making Taylor an interesting DFS play this weekend.
New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor will start the team's Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday versus the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles. The G-Men have nothing left to play for but pride in a game in which the Eagles could be resting key starters. The 34-year-old veteran signal-caller took over for the ineffective rookie Tommy Devito in last week's one-point loss to the Los Angeles Rams and went 27-for-41 for a season-high 319 yards, one touchdown and an interception while also fumbling. In a game against a vulnerable Eagles secondary that could be resting starters, Taylor could be a decent QB2 streaming option for fantasy managers in superflex leagues that are still competing for a championship in Week 18.
