Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that running back Jerome Ford (hamstring) is week-to-week after injuring his hamstring in the Week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Ford suffered his hamstring injury in the first quarter and didn't play at all in the second half, finishing with only two carries for 14 yards to really let his fantasy managers down. Not only is it possible that both Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) could be back for Week 7 against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals, but Ford might not even be available to play in that game. In what has been an atrocious Browns offense this year, Ford's fantasy stock is going to plummet even further heading into Week 7. If Chubb and Hines aren't ready to come off the PUP list and Ford is inactive against Cincy, D'Onta Foreman would likely serve as Cleveland's lead back.
Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (hamstring) has been ruled out of the rest of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Ford appeared to have tweaked his hamstring in the first half and went back to the locker room. Now that he's officially listed out, Pierre Strong Jr. and D'Onta Foreman will split carries in the backfield. With hamstring injuries usually becoming a tricky injury, Ford's status will need to be monitored throughout the week to determine the severity. Nick Chubb (knee) could also return next week, so the backfield may look a lot different. Ford finished this contest with 14 yards on two carries.
Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Ford tweaked his hamstring early in the contest, forcing his abrupt exit to the locker room. If he doesn't return, he'll finish the day with two carries for 14 yards. If that's the case, Pierre Strong Jr. and D'Onta Foreman would likely split carries for the remainder of the contest.
Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford has seen his workload fluctuate throughout the first five games of the season. He saw the majority of the work in Weeks 1, 3, and 4 while operating in a timeshare with D'Onta Foreman in the other two weeks. With Nick Chubb (knee) already ruled out for Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Ford will have at least another week to lead the Cleveland backfield. The Eagles have been tough against running backs this season, allowing just the 26th-most fantasy points per game to the position through four games. Ford has some upside as a pass catcher but the Cleveland offense has really struggled to sustain drives this season. That fact, coupled with Ford's inconsistent workload from week to week, leaves him on the RB2/RB3 borderline in fantasy heading into Week 6.
Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball nine times for 47 yards and added three catches for two yards in a 34-13 loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 5. Ford turned in a quiet game in the lopsided loss as he ceded 10 touches to backup running back D'Onta Foreman in the contest. Ford was on his way to a much quieter game but he managed to rip off runs of 16 and eight yards on the Browns' touchdown drive in the fourth quarter to boost his rushing total. With Nick Chubb (knee) likely returning to the field in the next few weeks, Ford's days as a fantasy starter appear to be numbered. He will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6.
