Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Reagor has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The Chargers have decided to bring up both Reagor and Jaylen Johnson with multiple wideouts banged up. Right now, Quentin Johnston (ankle) is considered doubtful for Sunday while Ladd McConkey (hip) remains questionable for Sunday. Despite the injuries, it's hard to imagine Reagor or Johnson having a significant role in the offense. Both players are likely getting brought up as depth, so fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a streaming option for Sunday.
The Los Angeles Chargers signed free-agent wide receiver Jalen Reagor to their practice squad on Monday, according to a source. The Chargers are adding some depth at the receiver position with DJ Chark (hip) currently on Injured Reserve and after Joshua Palmer (calf, elbow) missed the Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Reagor, a former first-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020 out of TCU, has not lived up to his draft stock in the NFL and failed to catch on with the New England Patriots out of training camp after catching only seven passes for 138 yards and no touchdowns in 11 games for the Pats in 2023. Even if Reagor joins the active roster for the Week 4 contest against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs, he won't be a realistic fantasy option in his first game with LA. For now, he'll be WR depth behind Quentin Johnston and rookies Ladd McConkey and Brenden Rice.
New England Patriots wide receiver Jalen Reagor was released by from the practice squad on Tuesday. Reagor had yet to play in a game this season and had voiced his frustrations on social media. The former first-round pick spent 2023 with the Patriots but only recorded seven receptions for 138 yards. Now Reagor will have to try to find a new home. Given his complete lack of involvement in the offense, this move has no implications for fantasy football.
The New England Patriots are re-signing wide receiver Jalen Reagor to a one-year, $1.3 million deal that included $442,500 in guarantees. The 2020 No. 21 overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles has hauled in 79 of his 147 targets for 937 yards and four touchdowns through the first 56 games of his career. After four NFL seasons of lackluster production, he's unlikely to break out anytime soon. However, New England has one of the worst wide receiver groups in the NFL, so he could see plenty of playing time if the organization doesn't bring in significant updates via free agency or the 2024 NFL Draft. For now, Reagor is not on the fantasy radar.
New England Patriots wide receiver Jalen Reagor turned six targets into just one catch for 33 yards during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. He also added a 17-yard rush. Reagor led all Patriots wide receivers in targets and yards on Sunday, but that's not saying an awful lot considering how much the passing game faltered. Reagor won't be a priority re-signing for the Patriots this offseason, and it's hard to envision a scenario in which he has fantasy relevance next year.
