San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy led the team to a 36-24 victory on Thursday night in Seattle. The 24-year-old completed 18 of 28 attempts for 255 yards, three touchdowns, and no turnovers. He added four rushing attempts for 19 yards. Purdy looked much better this week on the road than he did at home against Arizona in Week 5, especially in avoiding the pass rush. He was not sacked, avoiding the batted balls and mid-throw arm obstructions that have caused some of his recent turnovers. Purdy is now 4-0 against the Seahawks in his career, including playoffs. He'll have plenty of time to rest up before a Week 7 marquee matchup at home against the Chiefs.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy faces the division-rival Seahawks in Seattle for a Week 6 matchup on Thursday night. In a surprising one-point home loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week, Purdy left something to be desired with a 19-for-35, 244-yard effort, including a touchdown, two interceptions, and 33 yards rushing. Seattle is 11th-best in the NFL at limiting fantasy quarterbacks in Yahoo default scoring. However, the Seahawks are dealing with significant injuries on defense, which boosts Purdy's outlook. Starting defenders CB Riq Woolen, DT Byron Murphy II, and LB Uchenna Nwosu have all been ruled out, plus two linebackers and a safety have been tagged questionable. Running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles/calf) remains on Injured Reserve, but Purdy is otherwise equipped with a fully healthy offense. He'll look to beat projections for just the second time this year as a mid/low QB1.
Quarterback Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers fell short in a 24-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Santa Clara. He finished with 19 completions of 35 attempts for 244 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Purdy also gained 33 rushing yards on four scrambles. While fantasy managers would much rather see more passing touchdowns, it's worth noting that he's been much more adept at contributing on the ground this year. After today, he's averaging 21.6 yards rushing per game, much higher than his nine yards per carry last year. The interceptions certainly stung in this one, but Purdy was a victim of bad luck as one of his interceptions was batted at the line and the other popped high into the air when he was hit as he threw. The third-year pro showed a renewed rapport with receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who he targeted 12 times for 8 receptions and 147 yards. Purdy has a short turnaround as he hits the road to face the Seattle Seahawks for the first time this year on Thursday Night Football.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy draws the Arizona Cardinals at home in Week 5. Last week, also at home, Purdy completed 15 of 27 passes for 288 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and 11 yards rushing versus New England. He's currently ranked as the season-long QB14 overall in Yahoo default scoring, slightly below consensus expectations coming into the season. The matchup this week against Arizona is a good one. The Cardinals represent the fifth-best opportunity for opposing fantasy quarterbacks, at 19.1 points against per game. The former Iowa State Cyclone will have all three of his relevant wideouts healthy and available, though tight end George Kittle (ribs) is questionable. The minor back issue that popped up last week appears to have cleared as Purdy didn't appear in this week's injury report. Usually, you can find Purdy surfing the line between QB1 and QB2 but in Week 5 with bye weeks starting and a good matchup, he's nested firmly in the QB1 conversation.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy had a decent fantasy day in a 30-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Santa Clara. He finished with 15 completions of 27 attempts for 288 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He added 11 yards on five scrambles and fumbled twice, but lost neither. Purdy's touchdown came on a gutsy back corner throw to tight end George Kittle who had two defenders draped on him but high-pointed the catch. His interception was a long pass thrown into double coverage to receiver Brandon Aiyuk in the endzone. Sunday's game script limited Purdy's fantasy day, leading to a season-low 27 pass attempts. San Francisco tallied the first points, jumped to a 20-0 lead, and maintained control of the scoreboard throughout the game. In Week 5, Purdy and the 49ers will look to climb above .500 when they host the Arizona Cardinals.
