Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (ankle) will be listed as questionable for Saturday's wild-card playoff game versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Waddle missed the final two regular season games, but the Dolphins have been optimistic that he'll return for the first round of the playoffs this weekend. The 25-year-old got in two limited practices on Tuesday and Wednesday, so he should be considered on the right side of questionable. Waddle has a decent DraftKings price considering he went for 1,000 yards receiving in the regular season, but he could be limited due to his high-ankle sprain if he plays, and the Chiefs defense has been very stingy on opposing pass-catchers this season.
Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) will be listed as questionable for Saturday's wild-card playoff game versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Mostert was held out of the final two regular season games, but the good news is he was limited in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday and there is optimism that he'll play this weekend in Kansas City. The 31-year-old led all offensive skill players in 2023 with 21 total touchdowns (18 rushing, three receiving), but he's limping into the postseason and is a candidate to cede valuable backfield touches to explosive rookie De'Von Achane if he gets the green light to play on Saturday. If Mostert is active, he'll be a boom/bust, touchdown-dependent DFS option in a tough matchup on the road in expected freezing temperatures.
Miami Dolphins wide receivers Tyreek Hill (ankle, quadriceps) and Jaylen Waddle (ankle) were both limited in practice for the second straight day on Wednesday. Hill is dealing with a new quadriceps injury, but he's really in no danger of sitting out against his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, in Saturday's wild-card playoff game. Waddle has missed the last two games, but he's expected to return as well, which is excellent news for a Dolphins offense that has slumped in two straight losses. Hill, who led the NFL in receiving yards and was tied among wideouts with 13 touchdowns, will be a popular DFS play as he returns to KC as the second-most expensive wideout on DraftKings. Waddle will only cost $6,500 in comparison to Hill's $8,700 price tag, but KC's defense has been a bad matchup for opposing wideouts all year long.
Both Miami Dolphins running backs De'Von Achane (ribs, toe) and Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) were limited in Wednesday's practice for the second straight day as they prepare to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday in a wild-card playoff contest. Achane has looked good in Miami's lead-back role the last two weeks with Mostert out, but the Dolphins are expecting both Mostert and receiver Jaylen Waddle (ankle) back this weekend, which could give Achane some serious bust potential in DFS as the third-most expensive RB on DraftKings this weekend. Mostert is right behind Achane as the fourth-most expensive RB, also giving him bust potential. In his first game back in a tough road matchup against the defending Super Bowl champions, Mostert, Achane and Jeff Wilson Jr. could all be deployed in a three-headed monster attack.
Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane (ribs, toe) remains on the injury report for wild-card weekend and was listed as limited on Tuesday's estimated practice report. Achane should be fine to face the Kansas City Chiefs this Saturday. He was Miami's lead RB the last two games with Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) inactive and he responded with 163 rushing yards on 24 carries for a touchdown while also catching five of six targets for 35 yards and another score. As a result, the explosive 22-year-old is trending up heading into the postseason and is currently the third-most expensive RB on DraftKings, behind only the Rams' Kyren Williams and Bucs' Rachaad White. There's optimism that Mostert will return this weekend, though, giving Achane bust potential if Mostert, the leader in total TDs in 2023, is back in the fold.
