Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was officially released on Wednesday night with a post-June 1 designation. Beckham's dead money will spread over two years, while the Ravens won't see the salary cap relief until June 2. After signing a one-year, $15 million deal with Baltimore last offseason, the 31-year-old veteran pass-catcher disappointed with 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns on 64 targets in 14 regular-season games (six starts). The only real reliable pass-catchers in Baltimore were rookie Zay Flowers and tight end Mark Andrews. The Ravens could still re-sign OBJ, but if he were to return, he'd have a limited role behind Flowers, Andrews and Rashod Bateman in the passing game. Beckham should land with another team, but his days of being a big part of an offense are likely over.

The Miami Dolphins restructured the contracts of tight end Durham Smythe, fullback Alec Ingold and defensive tackle Zach Sieler on Monday. Coupled with the conversion on cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the Dolphins were able to clear $28.78 million to get under the 2024 salary cap. The 28-year-old Smythe is a blocking first tight end who also served as the team's primary pass-catching tight end in 2023, finishing the year with 35 receptions on 43 targets for 366 yards and no touchdowns. Tight ends haven't been a big part of head coach Mike McDaniels' offense, and there's no reason to expect that to change entering the 2024 season. Smythe should be avoided in most fantasy drafts this fall after the Dolphins added Jonnu Smith to the TE room this offseason.

The Philadelphia Eagles are not tendering tight end Jack Stoll, meaning he will become a free agent when the legal tampering period begins on March 11. Stoll has served as Dallas Goedert's backup in Philadelphia since being undrafted in the class of 2021. He has hauled in 20 of his 27 targets for 183 yards in three seasons with the organization. The Eagles are open to re-signing the 26-year-old, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, but he is likely to hit the open market.

The Miami Dolphins and tight end Jonnu Smith agreed upon a two-year, $10 million contract on Thursday according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Smith was released by the Atlanta Falcons earlier in the offseason but wasn't looking for work for very long as he will now join an explosive Miami offense. The tight end position has not been heavily targeted since Mike McDaniel took over as the team's head coach but the Dolphins invested a significant amount of money to bring him to town, so Smith should open the year as the team's clear-cut starter. He can be tentatively considered a low-end TE2 heading into 2024.

Free-agent tight end Jonnu Smith visited with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, according to a source. The two sides are said to be in contract negotiations. Smith is able to get an early start on free agency after the Atlanta Falcons released the 28-year-old last week. In lots of two-tight end sets under former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith in 2023, Smith set career-highs in his first and only season in Atlanta in receptions (50), targets (70) and receiving yards (582) while scoring three touchdowns in 17 games (six starts). The Dolphins haven't really used tight ends all that much in head coach Mike McDaniels' offense and already have Durham Smythe around, so Smith would be hard-pressed to come close to matching last year's totals if he signs in Miami.
