Tua Tagovailoa's Participation Level At Camp Will Be "Very Fluid"

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel acknowledged that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's participation level at training camp will be "very fluid," and he's unlikely to fully participate in all practices as contract discussions between the two sides continue. The Dolphins and Tagovailoa have been in talks on a long-term contract extension worth north of $50 million per season. The 26-year-old former first-rounder out of Alabama was a first-time Pro Bowler in 2023 in his fourth year in the NFL, when he threw for a league-high 4,624 yards while tossing a career-high 29 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions in 17 regular-season starts. Tagovailoa deserves a raise after last year's performance, but in terms of fantasy, despite leading the league in passing yards, he barely finished as a top-10 QB. He's extremely accurate and has one of the best one-two punches in the league at receiver, but his lack of rushing prowess makes him merely a low-end QB1/high-end QB2.

Tyreek Hill Not Chasing Individual Goals In 2024

Last season, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill looked to be on pace to be the first player in NFL history to post 2,000 receiving yards in a single season. However, his Week 14 injury against the Tennessee Titans limited him in that game and caused him to miss the Week 15 contest against the New York Jets. He ultimately finished the campaign with 1,799 yards. He was vocal about wanting to reach the 2,000-yard mark in 2023, but heading into 2024, he said chasing that individual goal would be "selfish." "That'd be great. Grand scenario, that'd be great," Hill said of reaching 2,000 this season. "But I feel like at the same time I have to understand that the position that I'm in and me being one of the leaders and just singling out an individual goal like that -- because I had time to go look at it and talk about it with my family; and that's very selfish of me." With Hill potentially entering the last few seasons of his career, a second Super Bowl is likely at the top of his goal list. All that said, the eight-time Pro Bowler should remain one of the most productive pass-catchers in the NFL and a high-end WR1 in fantasy football.

Odell Beckham Jr. Injury Bug Persists, Placed On The Active/PUP List

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (undisclosed) appears to be working through minor injuries to start training camp. The Dolphins placed Beckham on the active/PUP list on Tuesday. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network indicated that this appears to be minor and part of the plan to ease Beckham back into football. After all, Beckham is a 31-year-old wide receiver who has not played a full season since 2019. After catching 35 balls for 565 yards and three touchdowns with the Ravens in 2023, Beckham will look to be a solid third option in the high-flying Miami offense in 2024. Unfortunately, the days of extreme production from Beckham are likely behind us. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle will undoubtedly steal the show in this offense when healthy. Not to mention, rookie Malik Washington could see significant playing time. It is better to pass on Beckham in fantasy this year, but the veteran remains an option in best ball or deep-league formats.

Deneric Prince The No. 2 Running Back On Tuesday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Deneric Prince was the first RB in after starter Isiah Pacheco during the run period of the team's training camp practice on Tuesday. Prince went undrafted last year and spent most of his rookie season in the NFL on the practice squad. He was active for just two games and didn't play any offensive snaps. We aren't making any predictions on the order of KC's depth chart after a few practices, but Prince certainly has a shot at a bigger role in 2024 in the Chiefs offense, especially if Clyde Edwards-Helaire continues to disappoint. The defending Super Bowl champions re-signed CEH in the offseason and brought in rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit, but other than that, there weren't any notable additions to their backfield. For now, Prince is merely a name to watch in KC's backfield.

Tua Tagovailoa May Not Practice Until He Gets A New Deal

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could opt to not participate in any practices until he receives a new contract. Tagovailoa is still expected to report for training camp this week, but he's in the final year of his rookie deal with the Dolphins and is searching for a long-term extension. It's not clear at this point where the two sides are at in this regard, and it'll be something for fantasy managers to keep an eye on throughout camp. The 26-year-old star signal-caller was a first-time Pro Bowler a season ago, leading the league in passing yards (4,624) while registering career-high marks in completion rate (69.3%) and touchdown passes (29) with 14 interceptions over 17 starts in Miami's high-powered offense. Tagovailoa remains safe to draft this summer as a low-end QB1 starter without much rushing upside in the later rounds after the top-tier options are off the board, with RotoBaller ranking him as the QB12 overall.
