Puka Nacua A Solid WR1 Against Lions

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) is officially off the injury report and is set up nicely for success against the Detroit Lions in Week 1. Nacua will line up against the Lions' revamped secondary of rookie Terrion Arnold and veteran Carlton Davis III. He should see success with Matthew Stafford under center and pick up where he left off during a breakout rookie campaign last year. He had a knee issue in the preseason but is ready to go. The BYU product commanded 9.4 targets per game last season and racked up 105 catches for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns. With Cooper Kupp back fully healthy the red-zone usage might be a bit of a concern for Nacua as Stafford seems to look for Kupp a lot in those situations. But Nacua should work the middle of the field on the short and intermediary routes and is a high-upside PPR play, who could be in for a huge game if he can find the end zone.

Cooper Kupp Could Be In Line For Big Night Against Lions

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is fully healthy to begin the season and has the potential to perform as a WR1 in a favorable matchup at the Lions in Week 1. Despite the emergence of last year's rookie breakout Puka Nacua, Kupp remains a favorite target of quarterback Matthew Stafford. His ability to move around the formation helps him get isolated in one-on-one coverage where he can use his shiftiness and route-running savvy to beat opposing defenders. The Lions drafted Terrion Arnold and signed Carlton Davis III in the offseason and each could see time defending Kupp in Week 1. In a potential shootout played in dome conditions, look for Kupp to score a touchdown and potentially get to 100+ receiving yards in the opening week of the season.

Matthew Stafford A Borderline QB1 In Week 1

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford could be in line to have a very productive week as he visits his old team in Detroit for an SNF matchup against the Lions. The game is expected to have one of the highest totals of the week and Stafford has his full array of weapons (aside from tight end Tyler Higbee) with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp both healthy. Throw Kyren Williams and capable backup tight end Colby Parkinson into the fray and Stafford should have plenty of options to throw to against a Lions defense that allowed 19.4 points per game to opposing quarterbacks in fantasy last season. Stafford averaged nearly 20 points per game in games in which Kupp played last season. He should be plenty motivated in his return from Detroit and should be treated as a borderline QB1 in Week 1. He can be started with confidence in the right roster situation.

Blake Corum Listed As Primary Kick Returner

Los Angeles Rams rookie running back Blake Corum was listed as the team's top kick returner on special teams on the club's first official depth chart of the 2024 season. Not only is Corum listed as their top kick returner, but lead back Kyren Williams is expected to open the year as their top punt returner. It remains to be seen if this setup will last all year, but it will certainly open both Corum and Williams up to added injuries in the return game. Williams is the unquestioned lead back in LA's backfield after an impressive year in 2023, but the 23-year-old Corum is expected to have a sizeable workload behind him to take some pressure off. At the very least, the Michigan product should be handcuffed to Williams in fantasy, but he could also have some standalone fantasy value as an RB4/flex in what could be an explosive Rams offense if quarterback Matthew Stafford stays healthy.

Puka Nacua Practicing In Full, Good To Go For Week 1

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) was listed as a full participant in the team's first official practice of the regular season on Wednesday and should be ready to roll for the Week 1 season opener on Sunday night against the Detroit Lions. Nacua returned to a full practice last week after initially injuring the bursa sac in his knee way back on Aug. 4. It's something worth watching, but fantasy managers shouldn't have any reservations about starting the star second-year wideout in lineups this weekend. The 23-year-old former fifth-rounder last year out of BYU took the league by storm right away, finishing with a 105-1,486-6 line in 17 regular-season games. Even with veteran wideout Cooper Kupp back to full health in 2024, Nacua showed last year that he has WR1 upside for fantasy managers on a weekly basis.
