Travis Kelce Not Putting Timeframe On Retirement

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is a three-time Super Bowl Champion and nine-time Pro Bowler, and retirement rumors have picked up steam over the last two offseasons. However, the 34-year-old is not putting a timeline on the end of his career, and he signed a two-year extension this offseason. "I really can't put a timeframe on (retirement)," Kelce said. "I love coming to work every single day. I know there's opportunities for me outside of football. I'm going to keep going until the wheels fall off. Hopefully, that doesn't happen anytime soon." For what it's worth, Kelce sits over 3,000 yards shy of passing Tony Gonzalez for the most receiving yards ever by a tight end, so he could be chasing that mark. Kelce's 984 receiving yards in 2023 were his fewest in a single season since 2015, yet he still finished second among all tight ends. The future Hall-of-Famer and clear top-five tight end of all time could fall off a cliff in production at any moment, but for now, he remains an elite player at the position. All that said, he is no longer the consensus TE1 in fantasy football thanks to emerging pass-catchers like Sam LaPorta and Trey McBride.

Rashee Rice Plans To "Mature And Continue To Grow"

Speaking to reporters on Saturday for the first time since his tumultuous offseason, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice said his focus is to "mature and continue to grow." The 24-year-old second-year wideout was arrested in April following a multiple-vehicle crash in Dallas, and he's also a suspect in a separate incident in an alleged assault at a Dallas nightclub in May. "I've learned so much from that," Rice said. "All I can do is mature and continue to grow from that. This is a step in a better direction for me." He has taken part in all offseason practices with the Chiefs but is likely to face a suspension from the league to begin the 2024 season, which is obviously a hit to his fantasy value. In his rookie campaign, Rice became one of quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite targets, finishing with 79 receptions on 102 targets for 938 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 regular-season games.

Mecole Hardman Jr. Re-Signs With Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs re-signed veteran wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. on Thursday, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. The 26-year-old will return for his sixth season with the organization after catching the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl LVIII win over the San Francisco 49ers. While Hardman hasn't been a superstar since being selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, he has caught the third-most touchdowns (16) from Patrick Mahomes, trailing only Travis Kelce (47) and Tyreek Hill (43). Mahomes and the Chiefs trusted him in a crucial moment in the Super Bowl, so he'll likely earn snaps in 2024. Given the uncertainty surrounding Rashee Rice's legal troubles, Kansas City has now drafted Xavier Worthy and brought back Hardman. Hardman has hauled in 166 passes for 2,212 yards and 16 touchdowns through his first 68 career games.

Xavier Worthy Agrees To Rookie Deal

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy has agreed to terms to sign his rookie contract, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The 21-year-old out of Texas saw his fantasy football stock skyrocket after posting an NFL-record 4.21 forty-yard dash and being drafted by Kansas City with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The speedster has intriguing upside playing with Patrick Mahomes, but injury risk could be present since he is under 170 pounds. Worthy already suffered a minor hamstring injury this offseason, which is concerning given the numerous wideouts that have missed games with lingering hamstring issues over the last few seasons. Nonetheless, he's a clear first-round pick in rookie drafts.

Samaje Perine Could Be Cut To Clear Cap Space

Denver Broncos running back Samaje Perine could be one of the players released or traded by the team this offseason, according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. Kosmider notes that "it wouldn't be a huge surprise if the Broncos moved on from Perine" given that releasing him would create roughly $3 million in cap space. That's a very reasonable outcome for Denver as they look for extra money and find ways to win with younger players. Perine, 28, broke free for 238 rushing and 455 receiving yards in 2023. He should be rostered as a decent RB4 option in most fantasy leagues.
