Amon-Ra St. Brown Has High Ceiling In Neutral Matchup On Sunday

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has been a consistent producer all year, posting at least 95 receiving yards or scoring a touchdown in 17 of his 18 games. With a trip to Super Bowl LVIII on the line, the third-year pro draws a neutral matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners surrendered the 14th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers during the regular season and gave up 100-yard receiving games to six wideouts. St. Brown is a fixture for double-digit targets, and with Josh Reynolds (ribs), Kalif Raymond (knee), and Sam LaPorta (knee) all banged up, he should continue to be fed on Sunday. He is the most expensive wide receiver for DraftKings contests this weekend at $7.900, but he's likely worth paying up for.

Jahmyr Gibbs Could Be Heavily Involved In NFC Title Game

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has had a solid start to his postseason career in the team's wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams. In those two contests, the first-round rookie rushed 17 times for 99 yards and a touchdown and caught all eight of his targets for 83 yards. He should be heavily involved in Detroit's offensive game plan against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. The Lions are a 7.5-point underdog in that contest, meaning they could be playing from behind. Gibbs had twice as many receptions (26) while the Lions were trailing during the regular season than he did when they were ahead (13). The Niners also surrendered the fifth-most receptions per game to running backs this year (5.3). Ultimately, the stars are aligned for Gibbs to flash his explosive skill set in the running and receiving game on Sunday.

David Montgomery A Touchdown-Or-Bust DFS Play On Sunday

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery hasn't been a great producer in the playoffs against two strong defensive fronts, posting 90 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries against the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On Sunday in the NFC Championship Game, he'll face another tough matchup. The San Francisco 49ers surrendered the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs during the regular season. DFS gamers should not expect Montgomery to have a big rushing day, so his outlook will be dependent on him finding the end zone. That said, his $5,600 price tag for DraftKings tournaments is reasonable, so he remains on the fantasy radar.

Jared Goff Has Bust Potential Against 49ers

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has been excellent in the team's two playoff wins this postseason, completing over 74% of his passes for 564 yards and three touchdowns. He has not thrown an interception. However, he faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams secondaries that were picked apart during the regular season. A road matchup with the San Francisco 49ers will be a whole new challenge. The 49ers surrendered the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game to signal-callers in 2023, and Goff's passer rating dropped from 107.9 at home to 89.4 on the road. Ultimately, he has the lowest ceiling and floor of the four quarterbacks set to play on Conference Championship Sunday.

Brock Wright Placed On Injured Reserve

The Detroit Lions officially placed tight end Brock Wright (forearm) on Injured Reserve and signed defensive lineman Tyson Alualu to the 53-man active roster from the practice squad and signed tight end Zach Ertz to the practice squad in corresponding moves. Wright will miss the rest of the postseason with a fractured forearm that he suffered in the Divisional Round win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 25-year-old finished the regular season with only 13 catches for 91 yards and one touchdown in a backup role behind impressive rookie Sam LaPorta. Ertz will give the Lions some veteran depth the rest of the way, but it's unclear if he'll even be active in the NFC Championship this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Anthony Firkser figures to be the primary backup behind LaPorta.
