Jared Goff Posts 273 Yards, One Touchdown In Sunday's Loss

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff completed 25 of his 41 passing attempts for 273 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions in the 34-31 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. The veteran signal-caller arguably did enough to win, but crucial drops down the stretch and on fourth down sealed the Lions' defeat. The 29-year-old had his best season since at least 2018 this year, so look for Detroit to offer him an extension this offseason. Although he's likely going to lose offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, he'll remain on the fantasy radar throwing to Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and company next season.

Sam LaPorta Remains Strong DFS Consideration In Tough Matchup

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (knee) did not practice on Wednesday, got in a limited session on Thursday, and practiced in full on Friday. The rookie is still dealing with the knee injury he suffered in Week 18 against the Minnesota Vikings, but he does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers surrendered the 11th-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends during the regular season, but LaPorta has proven he has upside in all matchups. He's the third-most expensive tight end option behind Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews in FanDuel DFS contests on Sunday, so he remains a strong consideration in lineups.

Kalif Raymond Ruled Out For NFC Championship

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond (knee) has officially been ruled out for the NFC Championship game on Sunday versus the San Francisco 49ers. Raymond injured his knee in the Week 18 regular season finale and is now going to be forced to miss the team's third straight playoff game. It's unknown if the 29-year-old receiver/kick returner would be ready to play in the Super Bowl in two weeks if the Lions beat the Niners this weekend. During the regular season, Raymond caught 35 of his 44 targets for 489 yards and one touchdown for the Lions. Josh Reynolds (ribs) will play on Sunday, so he and Amon-Ra St. Brown will operate as quarterback Jared Goff's top two aerial targets against San Francisco on the road.

Sam LaPorta Logs Limited Practice Session On Thursday

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, but he was upgraded to a limited participant on Thursday. The rookie, who posted 86 receptions during the regular season, suffered a hyper-extended knee and bone bruise against the Minnesota Vikings in the season finale. Still, he was healthy enough to suit up for the Wild Card and Divisional rounds. Detroit will likely be careful with his practice reps throughout the week, but he should be fully expected to play against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

Jameson Williams Could Have Enhanced Role Against 49ers

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams hasn't been much of a factor in the team's playoff wins against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams. The 2022 first-round pick caught just four passes on six targets for 54 yards. However, Sam LaPorta (knee), Josh Reynolds (ribs), and Kalif Raymond (knee) are all on this week's injury report, so their statutes could affect Williams' fantasy and DFS outlook. Additionally, the Lions are 7.5-point underdogs on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, meaning the overall passing volume could be up. LaPorta and Reynolds are likely to play, but if Raymond does not suit up, Williams can be utilized as a dart throw DFS option at his $3,700 price tag on DraftKings.
